Safari on Windows

I'm trying it out right now, it seems to work fine(edit - not anymore). Apple plans on global domination and here's the true sign!

Shift + and Ctrl + keys seem funy sometimes.
When you minimize and then click to return the window it resizes to the ugly Quicktime style resizing.

The first site I opened with it (www.eurogamer.net) came up thrashed.

The problem I have with Safari is that it doesn't have very good Javascript support, hence making it useless for a lot of web applications. However, it's a great browser for to browse simple websites because it loads pretty quickly and isn't bulky like FireFox.

If Apple can get the Javascript issues sorted, I'd be more interested in the browser - especially as web applications can be used on iPhone.

Crashed twice here in as many minutes. Ironically, once was when I closed the accidentally-opened bug report form.

Looks nice, except for the bloody awful font smoothing that you can't turn off.

No way is it 1.6x faster than Firefox, though.

On a more positive note, my website looked fine in it. :)

Does it come with "Apple Updater"? (Aka: The reason why Windows is so slow).

Looks like it has a few nice features, though. The RSS reader is quite pretty, and forms autofill is a nice thing to have. Unfortunately, for that RSS reader to be really good, we need feeds to stop summarizing their content! Summarizing is the reader's job; the point of RSS is simply to provide a consistent structure that contains site content.

Last time I used Safari it had some terrible performance with animated Gifs and some other image formats. How are they in this version?

I'm in no need to switch browsers right now, since I have the perfect combination of a desktop-integrated RSS reader and a fast / integrated web browser (Epiphany!)... but I'll check this browser out if that combination ever fails me :)

I don't know why the hell they have released a beta which is in this early state yet. It is not a very good publicity for Safari. Anyway, I don't use Safari on the Mac, so I doubt I'll use it on Windows.

And I would love to see a more Windows-standard theme in the Windows version of Safari. Standard buttons and tabs and that.

It seemed to work well enough on my work PC. I'll probably be dropping Firefox for it, which is kind of funny since I use Firefox over Safari on my Mac at home...

Yeah, I like Safari to a bit, but I'd still much rather use Opera or Firefox.

Yep, but you can only turn the effect down, not off completely.

Eh, too early to use it. I'll wait until it's more useful than a toy.

I found another browser yesterday, tried it and it is really fast and lightweight!! (very similar to Safari)

Mleh, I might choose Opera as my official browser, I like it on the Nintendo consoles, DS Lite and Wii, but the PC seems to be where it's at. Might try it on Linux as well as Windows. I assume that Opera is multiplatform like Firefox is?

Opera is a great browser. It's what I use on both Mac and PC.

I think right now it's mostly for Windows developers that want to see how their stuff will work on the iPhone.

Hence the reason why Nintendo chose that browser for their consoles.

Needless to say, even tho Safari is okay, it's just plain, old vanilla web surfing, nothing totally advanced that really makes it innovative, other than being speedy in loading a webpage.
