Need a good icon

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Need a good icon

I need an icon for my script editor. I want something like a bluish-purplish rounded cube at a 45-degree angle, with a low and high-res icon packed into the file. Can anyone make this?

This is actually what got me thinking about it in the first place:

just an idea? gimme for detail then a purpleyblue tillted box :\

Hm... Something like the application-x-executable icon in Tango?

http://tango.freedesktop.org/static/cvs/tango-icon-theme/scalable/mimetypes/application-x-executable.svg (Scalable to any size).

That icon is of course not mine. It is released under this (very nicely summarized) license, so you can use it if you wish :)

Beware that if you do use that one, you will turn into a crazy communist software zealot and your mind will be polluted with an overwhelming urge to destroy America!
You have been warned.

Close...

I have a vision of some gamedev tool I saw once, or dreamed of, and it had these rounded cubes in different colors for the different tools. It might have been 3DGS, or I might have been smoking crack.

You guys realise a 32x32 icon will look lousy in Vista?

Vista can display icons up to 256x256 so you should make sure your icon contains at least a 128x128 variation, as well as other various sizes down to 16x16.

.exe icons?

Yes.

Honestly, no one should be using Vista right now. It doesn't run anything.

I don't remember this happening when XP or 98 was introduced.

I've had no problems, apart from pappy SpeedTouch modem drivers, though, a router sorted that out

I suppose it all depends on what you use though.

Dabz

Ooops, didn't mean to post here!
Oh, well...
Raster icons should be banned along with whatever software uses them! Scalable ones are fun :)

You should be barking at the developers of software that doesn't run. Its not Microsoft's fault that years of sloppy coding have finally caught up with everyone.

Dunno about Win98, but XP has a Compatibility Mode to ensure old stuff works.
