Well, I was looking at MSDN's website regarding support for Vista and the Visual Studio versions. It seems like Visual Studio 2005 w/ SP1 is the preferred package for Vista software development, and is the only fully supported package. However, I also saw that Visual Basic 6.0 was also supported. I mean, jeez, if you're gonna support VB 6.0, why the bloody can't you support the whole Visual Studio 6.0 package? Man, can't Microsoft get anything right?!

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Visual Studio 6.0 Pro and Vista Can VS2005 support older c, C++ programs? Classic VB cannot be worked on with the newer VS programs - probably the only reason that VB6 is supported.
Some people still prefer VB over VB.net and see it as nearly a completely different language.
From experience I prefer VB over VB.NET. (programming VB.NET on a college course and VB6 from own interest) I'm pleased MSoft are supporting VB6.
I've recently tried to use my copy of VS 05 for simply compiling C (I'm on XP Home), it creaked and groaned and struggled to start. So I'm using code warrior 6 instead - loads up quickly and compiles sweetly too. Excellent debugger facility.

Ahh, okay. I'm glad that VB6 works. However, if VB 6 is installed within the Visual Studio 6.0 package, would anything from the other languages in the Studio affect the performance or anything at all? I know that VC++ 6.0 seems to want to dominate.
VB6 and the rest of visual studio have no affect on each other.
