REQUEST: BlitzMAX Mods availablity and history

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/REQUEST: BlitzMAX Mods availablity and history

**This is just a personal request, but I think this would help the community***

I'm lazy and mostly out of the loop when it comes to mod updates (brl, pub, axe, etc.).

Is there anyway to add a forum (more of an official forum instead of the BlitzMax Module Tweaks forum) or a webpage section for BlitzMAX mods? (wow..just learned about http://www.blitzbasic.com/modserver124/, but that is not detailed enough)

I would like to see the following if possible:

1. List all mods from BRL and any third-party mods. (Third party mobs could register with BR, so they can maintain their own work instead of BR.)

2. Supply an area where online documentation (version history changes, examples, syntax) could be added to the mod (both official and/or tips&tricks by users).

3. Allow these mods to be synced or downloaded.

4. Breakdown each mod to a category: sound, zip, 3d wrapper, etc.

This is just a request, so don't flame me if this has be tried or asked before.

Thanks,

Jason

Yes, I would like a separate forum area for modules as well, where completed and working modules could be posted...

And frameworks? My framework is not compiled as mod. It's just source code that you include and use.

Grey Alien,

Good idea!! Frameworks and other includes that are not a .mod should also be informed and documented to the community.

Side note:

I know Mark and Simon are busy with other things, but this little request will allow new blitzmax developers (like me) to focus on what is available instead of constantly hunting threads on what is available and/or how things should work.

Thank you,

Jason

That would make thing a lot easier. After all there is a code area where we can easily find code stuff. Why not a mod area, where we can easily search for mods?

Jason,
This resource links maybe can satisfy your 1&2 requirements.

assari,

Thank you so much for this!!

BTW, your tutorials rock!

Jason

Come on assari, the user module list is still not up to date yet ;-)

I would be willing to help on this. I'm not a frequent user of BlitzMax but I have a website (www.dannysgames.com). If the 2dgamecreators section isn't enough, I could set up a section on my site for user modules (and platforms too). For documenting these modules, I also have WikiDoc on my homepage: http://danbar10.allhyper.com/wikidoc Alright so its not the prettiest thing around but I'm working on that.
