I bought a gig of RAM off NewEgg, and the notch is just slightly off so that it doesn't fit my mobo!
Does DDR2 RAM not fit in DDR1 slots?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Does DDR2 RAM not fit in DDR1 slots? Unless your mobo is backwards compatible, then erm, probably not!
The only backwards compatible mobo I know of is this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157107
This is acheived through different slots for the memory, so, if your mobo doesnt have a DDR2 slot snuggled next to your DDR ones, your screwed! :)

Anyone want to buy a gb of DDR2 RAM for $30?
Get a saw. Cut more notches. :D
(srsly - don't)

What speed is it?
DDR2 will not fit in a DDR1 slot, and even if you could cram it in there it won;t work:
- DDR2 is 240 pins, DDR1 is 184 pins
- DDR2 memory runs at a lower voltage
The little notch at the bottom preventing you from inserting it, also prevents you from frying the DDR2 stick from misaligned pins and a voltage overdose that the DDR1 slot would give it...

I found a stick of DDR1 in my old machine and used it.
The new RAM I ordered is this:

I just received it yesterday. I'll ship it to you if you want to buy it off me.

$30, thats cheap... Though, for a non-branded 'value' stick of the same spec in the UK, it would cost about £30 (nearly double the actual value of the one there)
I would buy it, but it would be pointless (I'm in the UK) and my sticks are 4300, so the mobo will probably underclock it.

I would be interested in buying it.
