Physx Wrapper license

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Physx Wrapper license

..I tried demo for B3D and its really outstanding and everything I really need for Physics within B3D...but my main concern is license since this is actually wrapper for AIGEA PSYSX, and I am not sure is it legal to use this wrapper for commercial use...does any of you guys already have license for this wrapper and if so, whats the license status regarding Aigea?? More details here http://rubux.swargo.com/

You need your own license with Ageia. Last time I looked they don't charge, but you do have to apply and agree to some rules or something.

If you're asking about the legality of charging for a wrapper or Ageia, I have no idea. So long as he doesn't distribute Ageia with it, it's probably ok, but I don't know this for a fact.

everything regarding wrapper(and wrapper author is pretty much clear), but what is the case with Aigea..on their web site there is nothing like 'wrapper stuff'...so usually how this kind of things is considered??

you can use it in commercial games for any computer platform for free, You just can't use it on consoles. So no 360, and it comes for free with the PS3 SDK anyway.

Either I don't understand your question or I just answered it. wrapperd are not considered, you're using Ageia, so you need a license for it. The use ( or not ) of intermediate code is irrelevant. For intance, people who are using my TrueVision3D wrapper are still required to have a TV3D license because a) it's the law and b) I don't distribute TV so they can't get it from me.

I'm guessing from what you're saying that the wrapper author *is* distributing Ageia itself or at least is distributing everything you need to make an Ageia-ready game. If that's the case you'd need to ask him whether you need a license with Ageia but unless he has some special dispensation ( which I doubt ) then you would.

When I got my licence you had go to their web page, and sign up with an email and thats it. There were no fees.

I'm not sure about details like having to include the installer/updater with your game, or whether you can just drop in the dll's for the version you want to support.

But it's a free physics solution so long as you registered as a developer with your email. We hope to support it eventualy.

I looked through their EULA and come up with the fact that you can use it as Evak mentioned.

Their using their SDK to push the hardware... so go with the flow *cough* ;)

Has late noticed this theme.
Together with PhysX wrapper you should accept the licence from Ageia. PhysX wrapper is a tool which does work with Ageia PhysX very simple.
Before showing wrapper I spoke with Ageia about important moments (about uses my installer of Drivers). So you can does not worry ;)

..aaa..here you areee mr. Render :) ok..I think I'm going to get your wrapper then ;) .. by the way do you have any nice example with physics attached to animated character bones??

There was a similar example, but then I have lost it.

There all is very simple. You load model as AnimMesh. You search for bones as children. Then you get their position and turn. Then you put physical bodies.
There is one problem. If to use bones from 3dsMaks they have the wrong centre. And the physical model will be is above. For this purpose it is recommended to do the other (your) bones.

I like this plugin.. but I don't like something fiddling my registry, imo a big drawback for this nice wrapper, even it's a transparent task..

I have version PhysX wrapper which works without registry. I asked in Ageia about its use, but they are silent. It is said that will consider my question in following SDK.
In the licence about the register anything is not present. If version PhysX wrapper without the register is interesting to you write to me physx-support@... . We will have a talk ;)
