I just came across this great little utility. It is a free app that lets you install a ram disk drive on your pc (Win2k/XP).
Those of us who defected from the Amiga to the PC in the year dot will know exactly what a ram disk is. To those who don't, it is a device that acts and behaves like a normal hard drive but uses your available memory instead (no moving parts=fast!). It is extremely handy to have such a device especially if your game performs many read/write operations during execution and slows your game down to a crawl.
I am mucking about with it now to see what sort of access times I can get.
