Good 2D game with physics?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Good 2D game with physics?

Is there a good 2D computer game with physics? I am picturing something like Sonic the Hedgehog with physics.

Of course, I was gonna mention BreakQuest, but then you had to go and mention Sonic the Hedgehog.

Still...

I don't know about good, but fun-motion has plenty of physics based games.

Sonic used plenty of physics, just that people weren't so hyped up on the buzzword 15 years ago ;) Gish is probably the closest thing which is a huge stretch of course.

depends what you mean by physics - i wrote a platform game once that had 'gravity' :P

Pinball games spring 2 mind.

-Edit-

Just thought of another classic 2d phs - incredible machine (sierra i think)

I was playing barrel mania and the graphics reminded me a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog. It would be sweet if someeone made a new 2D platformer with (good) physics puzzles.

I got some based physics (with crates and coins) in Iron Fist, but nothing major.

There was a motorcyle racing game called Action Supercross and then ElastoMania a while back, but this game:

Looks to be almost the same, but with better graphics, a bit more realism on the physics, and larger levels.
