I'm preparing a new machine to be used for game testing and I've got a funny issue going on. If I run a typical network through a router the machine performs fine. However, if I set up a peer-peer network between two machines this particular machine chokes.
The machine in question is running Vista and the other machines are running XP. Aside from that I'm not sure what might be the issue. Why would the machine work seemlessly in a LAN match through a default gateway but choke in a peer-peer setting (even with just two machines)? There are some network card settings but I'm not sure what culprit could be in anyway. Does someone have a clue?
I know that it's far better to use wired connections, but in some cases wireless peer-peer will be used so I have to get this working.
