Wow! One of my games on PC Format
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Wow! One of my games on PC Format
Got my copy of PC Format through the door on Saturday and came to look at the DVD yesterday. As usual there was the monthly selection of 50 shareware/freeware games, which I always have a quick nosey at to see if there's anything new in there, and guess what? About half way down the list I see my Max Invaders game ... woohoo! Not quite sure why they didn't pick the DX version, but hey, it's coverage.
I have recognised other Blitz games on there, and I was just wondering if anyone here has had their game appear on their DVD and whether they saw an increase of traffic to their site as a result.
Well done. I think they should have let you know just incase you missed it!
I've had my Zarch remake on the retrogamer DVD. Not much of a claim to fame though.
I've had a number of covermounts over the years, I found that they do drive some traffic to the site to see what else you have, yes.
One thing though, they usually ask permission before they do it - i'm surprised that they did not. Or maybe that's just because I put that in the licence agreement.
I have a wall of shame, a bit like a hall of fame, with all my magazine covers on... Atleast I did until I moved :). Because to put my game on the disk that's the cost ... one free copy :D
wow, nice one! What other Blitz games did you see.
Yeah it's weird that they didn't ask permission.
Can't remember the names of a lot of them, I just notice them and realise that I've seen them here or BlitzCoder. 3D Invaders is one that was on quite a few - didn't see it on this one though.
As for the permission thing, Max Invaders is freeware so I allow it to be distributed without any special permission as long as the original installer is used, i.e. not messed with in any way. It states this in my licence agreement, so they probably noticed they don't need to contact me.
Hey well done dude. It's nice to have a bit of claim to fame isn't it? :)
