As some of you know I am having a few problems trying to get my new flat screen monitor to update smoothly when using Blitz3D\+ in windowed mode using a DVI cable.
Well after trying several older drivers (NVidia) I have found one that actually seems to resolve the problem but the trouble is that it doesn`t support my monitors optimum resolution, 1440x900, it only goes up to 1024x768. The feature to add custom screen resolutions was not in this driver or for quite a few after (they don`t work incidentally as they have the same screen update problems as I was getting before.)
My question is are there any other methods to add more screen resolutions to the older NVidia drivers if they don`t have the custom screen resolution controls? I have tried to install the monitors drivers thinking that this would do the trick but it hasn`t. The drivers say that my monitor supports 1440x900 but I cannot select that resolution as it doesn`t go that high. My card supports a higher resolution than 1440x900 too so I`m not sure why the driver doesn`t include them.
If anyone could help that would be great as I think that this may cure my update problem (fingers crossed.)
BTW the driver that I am using is 30.82, a really old one but it seems to work quite well.
Jason.
