Blitzmax / Blitz3d to the top!

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Blitzmax / Blitz3d to the top!

I have seen quite a bit of complaints/ramblings on these forums lately, about documentation, Max3D, and so on ... so I thought that instead of arguing again and again, I would just show the latest of my completed work with Blitz products (ok there is a fair bit of C++ as well but for the most part it's Blitz3D), just to give some feedback to Brl (and boost their ego!) :)

This is quite enigmatic. I gather that's a real building and a user can turn on/off lights and take a snapshot via the web? How was Blitz used here? More info bitte :).

Hey Blitz is a great product but it can't take the credit for your excellent artwork. Why did you have to resort to C++?

Yes it's a real building, 140 meters high, with 3 illuminated facades, about 4500 windows/pixels. In front of the building, there was (because the project is over although it will be hopefully displayed once again this year) a pod, and embedded into it a multitouch screen (so you could use all your fingers) with which you could choose a color, create points, lines and surfaces and animate them, then snap a picture of your creation (taken from a distant location) and send it as electronic postcard. The website is the catalog of these creations (I admit it looks better in motion).

Blitz was used for everything except for multitouch processing and DMX/Led lights driving.

Wow what a project. How much did all those lights cost?

Good work LAB[au] people.

@Nomen luni : a really tiny fraction of the cost of the building!

Anybody interested in collaborating on a opensource multitouch tech library for blitzmax? The system we had for this installation was using similar to the Jeff Han setup

is it just me or was that just screaming out for a niec game of space invaders.

or tetris which has been done - see youtube.

Anyway that's really cool. Maybe Jean Michelle Jarre would be interested...

Yeah try emailing the laser king.

God its been a while since ive seen him mentioned used to listen to his music alot

yeah me too. Got most of his CDs. Been a fan since I was about ooh 11.

I think Blitz Research should put up a section of the website that shows what blitz is used for, this would be a prime contender to sit in that spot.

I've always wanted to do something like this. Very nice!

So BlitzMax isn't just for games ?

Who'd have thought it....

Congrats :-)

Im a Jean-Michelle Jarre fan too :P I get alot of inspiration from his music. In fact, I get compared to him all the time and at one point called a "Mix between Pink Floyd and JMJ". haha.

Nice one LAB[au]!!
