What would you suggest for an all around animation tool. all around meaning: morphing, boned...
What would you suggest
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/What would you suggest Asking for the best animation packiage is like asking what is the best pop song, it's very subjective.
IMHO (from experience):
3DS Max rules them all and if you don't have the dough, Blender. If you'd like easy b3d output and don't mind to drive yourself a little crazy, CharacterFX.

Milkshape and Ultimate Unwrap (or whatever they call it today).
Character FX is cack, imho.

What knotz and GFK said, but would add fragmotion too :)
I use Milkshape and Ultimate Unwrap (or whatever they call it today).
I also think Character FX is cack.
Pacemaker look worth a look too.

I use Truespace 7.1 with the GamePak.
Truespace 7.5 comes out on the 30th and it looks good.
I have been eyeing up Cinema4D though and it certainly looks like a good app for everything 3D.

How do you export animations from blender?
I'd recommend XSI, its the most powerful of the pro apps at a sensible price, $500.
If you have the $ 3dsmax, if you don't and don't mind using an ugly deformed stepchild of a 3D app, Blender has a lot of powerful tools and is free.
As for the rest, its a bit hit and miss whether you will find good game exporters that cater for more than the most basic features.

Ultimate Unwrap = Ultimate Unwrap3D

I dont bother trying, i make a skin in blender as .X then animate it in fragmotion and save as b3d.
Im sure theres a way though, but unfortunately b3d doesn't like X files with 'boners' only b3ds :P
(unless miracles have happened in the last update and i never knew...)

LMFAO. Literally made me laugh :)
I could never get my head around Blender although I was able to figure out 3DS Max, which is wierd because its supposed to be the other way round...
I use neither now, since I work with someone who can actually do decent art! :D
I think that I'll get fragmotion cause I don't have much money. Thanks for the tips

I like blender. It's good once you get use to it.
