3Impact Version 5DX9 released.

I got a link to download my copy in an email this morning.

Anyone else from here a 3impact owner?

If so what do you guys think of the new version?

Well I just got an email telling me all the new features and why I should upgrade. I counted nine major new reasons, seven of which are huge gaping holes ( and in some cases bugs ) which should have been fixed with the last version. The only two new features which they didn't have a moral obligation to give away for free are features I've had for ages in TrueVision, and knowing the 3Impact track record, they probably work a whole lot better in TV.

So I guess I'm not overly impressed and they won't be seeing any more of my money just yet.

I have no intention of upgrading, I presume importing of models hasn't changed in this version either so it's going to be the same cumbersome process ... I'm thinking of getting Truevision instead.

If I ever convince myself to get back into 3D, I'll look at Truevision also. Heard good stuff about it.

I like 3impact. Its easy to use and I can prototype something in it very quickly.

I know it's not perfect and it has it querks but it's a good engine and has a lot of capabilities.

I'll stick with it for now. :)

On another note I received a pm on the 3impact forums from a guy wanting me to email him the latest version because his update privelages have run out.

Should I report him to the devs or should I just ignore the pm?

Heh, let him know that it would be illegal for you to do that and that you already reported him to the devs (but don't actually report him unless he tries again)!
