DX10 on WinXP

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/DX10 on WinXP

These libraries allow the use of DirectX 10 games on platforms other than Microsoft Vista, and increase hardware compatibility even on Vista, by compiling Geometry Shaders down to native machine code for execution where hardware isn't capable of running it. No longer will you have to upgrade your OS and video card(s) to play the latest games.

..interesting..

Very interesting.

My DX10 system should arrive this week.

hmmm, thought your DX10 system came with XP though?

Yeh - that's the whole point of this. I have a DX10 system and XP - so I need this download to Large myself.

Puki-

Read it. It's not ready for that yet ;)

The thread title says 'DX10 on WinXP' - it either is or it isn't.

You really should read the article. It doesn't need DX10 hardware, because it's an emulation layer that executes (presumably amongst other things) geometry shaders on your CPU instead of your useless Intel on-board graphics chip (which doesn't have them).

Just use OpenGL.

Yes yes, OpenGL 4 life
