Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/What are you currently playing ?

Well, this week, I have been mainly playing:

Bust-A-Bloc: PS2 (fantastic rendition of breakout clone)
NWN2: PC - just the online blah @ Dex1012
GrimFandang: PC - had to dig it out again after seeing it on the top 10 adv's list
RE4: GC - One of the very few games that has made me jump
GT4: PS2 - Can't beat it for 5 or 10 mins playtime.

Might be scouring the 2nd hand blah for Monkey Island for the kids......

Gone back to playing a bit of Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. It crashes a bit too often for my liking, and it has a horrendous UI, but it's still hands down the best RPG I've ever played.

Thinking of installing KotOR again, to see how Biowares best measures up.

Also playing an occasional match or two of Chaos League.

Don't have much free time for games tho' as I'm mostly busy working on our business plan and prototype software.

Trackmania United
STALKER
Final Fantasy XI
Call of Duty 3 - Wii (rented for a week)

Call of Duty! multiplayer (with planes!)

IPete2.

NWN2: Dex1012 is down, so Highland saga here I come, 25 percent of a 110MByte download to go - 110MByte download is outrageous I know, but I reckon it'll be 15 mins all in, and I'm still surfin.... 16 percent left now (;-)

Call of Duty! multiplayer (with planes!)

So is it just like BF2 now? Haven't played COD in a while.

Anyway, I'm getting a tremendous kick out of IL2 Sturmovick 1946 and Settlers 2. Both are massive time gobblers.

Roland Fantom X ;), and Deus Ex Game of the year edition.

Just bought Just Cause, RE4 and Silent Hill 3. RE4 kicks ass!!

Also purchased Legacy of Kain: Defiance. That game also kicks ass even if it is a few years old now.

Day of Defeat: Source

"Crimson Skies.." if I can get it to run properly.

Been playing Age of Empires II - Conquerers expansion.

Laid off S.T.A.L.K.E.R and other games for over a week now - I'm waiting on my new PC to play them on.

AOEII... multiplayer genius, my sons monopilised the computer recently with Age of Mythology. Good game... NWN2 highland saga seems initially like nice scenery but tedious work. Long live dex1012.

@Cygnus - indeed, RE4 slaughters ass!

S.talker, will check this out later.... gotta go watch a movie.

Nothing. I finished STALKER and after that I somehow managed to kill the Windows installation in my BootCamp partition with Parallels. Now I'm waiting for THEY HUNGER: LOST SOULS to be released, which at the moment would be the only reason to reinstall Windows on my Mac. ;-)

Super Paper Mario

GTA:San Andreas.

Or at least I was until I hit the plane flying missions. As far as I can tell, the game can't be finished using a mouse and keyboard only(?).

I finished RE4 on Friday night and have since completed Ada's mission and have been playing the mercenaries sub-game which is just crazy-ass. Got a few PS2 games in the pipeline but haven't really played them in ages.

Playing lots of Indie PC games at the moment, will be writing a few reviews soon. Not really got any mainstream PC titles on the go at the moment, just a few I stopped playing a while ago like Quake 4 and Diablo 2, which I may take up again at some point.

Things is with work, Aikido, family and the odd TV program (just bought Columbo season 4/5 on DVD) there isn't much time for gaming, compared to when I was young and single. Hey I played lego starwars 2 in two player mode today with my eldest son, that was cool. Could have played more games today I guess but I planted loads of seeds instead like onions, lettuce, tomatoes, beans, peas, peppers + potatoes and and herbs. Same yesterday, I washed and polished the car, mowed the lawn and tidied up the garage etc. As it gets sunnier it's harder to stay in playing games.

Super Paper Mario
Day of Defeat: Source
Command and Conquer 3 (Yawn)

Medieval 2
Oblivion

Ratchet & Clank [PSP]
Exit [PSP]
Guitar Hero 2

Titan Quest
various casual games

- Warcraft 3 - Frozen Throne
- Discworld 2

About to start 'Atlantis Evolution' I picked up from a bargain bin.

I love these threads. It's the only type of thread where absolutely no-onesays 'been said before, search for it' because it always changes.

Anyways, atm I'm on a combo run of Loco Roco (PSP, just finished it tho), Me and My Katamari (PSP, just finished), Command and Conquer 3 (PC, though I'm starting to wonder why I'm playing it), Final Fantasy XII (PS2 - hey it only came out in Europe a couple of months ago OK?!?), Parasite Eve (PSX On PSP rules).

My g/f plays all of those, plus an unhealthy amount of The Sims 2 Seasons.

For about the past week I've been spending most of my spare time coding. But before that I was playing The Sims 2. I don't know though, it was interesting after a while, but boring too. Directing people around their daily lives is just no fun after a while. Building a halfway decent house for the sims was the fun part, for me.

Which gets me to thinking of games I'd like to see. I think it would be interesting to play a FPS game where you could literally build a fort around you and use it to defend against attacks. One could almost use the same construction system that The Sims 2 uses.

Anyway, before that it was Diablo II, which I am still into playing. Something about collecting and upgrading runes has simply got me hooked. Even though I'll probably never use the runes for anything decent.

STALKER and more STALKER cant get enough of that Fallout era game :)

Deeper Dungeons (only because I'm working on it), otherwise - nothing, haven't played a computer game in ages. Although did have a go at Street Fighter 2 & Bubble Bobble a couple of weeks ago with a friend.

In order of time spent:
Steel Beasts Pro PE
Riddick (I love the start screen menu cube thing)
Eve online, very, very casual player. (my increase in SP goes faster than my increase of ISK)

Oh, and i tried for a evening Lord of The rings online (preorder'd for a couple of euro's), nice but i really had the feeling of "been there, done that".

And as Grey writes, the summer is coming. It's nice to sit in the garden with a cool beer. Less time for games.

haha yeah. It's such a time consuming game though and you can't save easily.

Anyway this week looks rainy so more work will get done.

Freecell

Final fantasy 12. Which is a massive rip off of rogue galaxy, which is what I played before FF12.

Super paper mario
Would have been Sup Com (if it worked on my computer)
Same with Freelancer(2nd to greatest game I have ever played)

Madcap13: Is it like FFX as in single player and similar, as I might buy it for my son?

@Grey, yeah, this year I am mainly growing parsnips complemented with a few courgettes and tomatoes. roast parsnip soup near christmas, yum yum.

Gotta revise this evening at some point.... then I might kill some zombies after heroes.(RE4).

Lego Star Wars 2 got a bit of playing on my (sons) PS2....

Super Paper Mario. Nowhere near as good as the GC game but still very entertaining. 16 hours in.

CnC3
Oblivion
Civ4

Baulders gate on the pc (the first one) good story etc, but the pap party AI is driving me nuts.

Dan its the only Baulders game where you can start a decent bar room brawl and have loads of people in the fight at once, Baulder 2 doesnt have any decent brawls unless you count the cowled wizards and they are more of an annoyance.

Crackdown ... Custom Robo ... Sudoku

Super Paper Mario, finally a decent game for the Wii...

Larn

world of warcraft
just got the following:
vietiful joe on PS2 (wicked game)
Resident Evil 4 on PS2
Zelda Twilight Princess (gamecube)

Actually I was playing Zelda Twilight Princess but got tired of the finding this then finding that then finding this concept. But Viewtiful Joe definately rocks....one of the harder games I've played though...

@Grey: FF12 is not really a FF; it's much the same as FF11. It was originally designed to be a single AND online game, but then Sony released the slim PS2s with no hd support.

It's still a great RPG. It just isn't FF. Dragon Quest 8 is closer to a FF than FF12 is. But if your son likes good RPGs, not just FFs, then get it for him anyway. =]

Baulders gate on the pc (the first one) good story etc, but the pap party AI is driving me nuts.
great game, so's the sequel, but yeah your dumbass party members get stuck on the map quite often, it's funny looking back but was annoying at the time.

SoggyP: You are *always* playing Larn.

Hotcakes: Oh, I thought FF XII was more like X (or maybe I jsut wanted it to be). Oh well, ho hum...

telesto: Yeah I compelted viewtiful Joe on Gamecube, wasn't easy but it's such a clever game.

I'm gonna get Paper Mario at some point for sure.

I've been playing a fair bit of Delta Force Xtreme lately. However, before that it was Battlestations Midway.

I find game playing is cyclic - you play a game for a few months, leave it for a few more, and then go back to it.

Company of Heroes, and I'm also trying out a few MMORPGs (free ones as well as City of Heroes/Vilains)...

I just bought a Wii back on Sunday (luckily I got the very last one in stock). I also got Super Paper Mario, and Zelda Twilight Princess, awesome games, and may do some stuff with the Virtual Console soon. I loved some of my GameCube titles I had, and glad that Nintendo had that true backwards compatibility (unfortunately, my GC Memory Card wasn't compatible, due to it being a generic brand of card). For now, I'm doing Excite Truck, learning how to use the Wiimote to drive the thing. It's just too frustrating to control the truck just right.

Grey Alien : The final fantasy series are all RPGs and as far as I know, all single player but you control more than one person at a time.

Though, honestly, I think I enjoyed rogue galaxy more but FF12 might be bigger. Plus, I haven't finished it. It definately it more graphically impressive.

Advance Wars 2
Diablo 2

It looks like a lot of people are playing Diablo 2 despite it being quite a few years old. Is it that good? I played the original but never got around to playing the second one.

Diablo 2 was amazing, I might bring my box out as well, and I played world of warcraft for 2 and a half years.

Other than that, since I stopped playing wow a month ago Iv not really touched any games, just been working on my current project.

Madcap13: I thought XI was online only or mainly?

* Lock On: Flaming Cliffs -- combat flightsim (http://lockon.ru)
* Dangerous Waters (modern sub sim)
* Guildwars

Grey Alien : It's possible that there's an online Final Fantasy. As of yet, I haven't played any of them.

Soz for the confusion.

Currently playing: not a lot, TBH.

so what are you doing Big10p? Women, Booze, Gambling?

How dare you suggest I gamble! :P

I just bought Rise of Nations from woolworth (£4!)....good game but abit hard from unfair computer AI

How dare you suggest I gamble! :P
OK Now I'm gonna suggest you must be a mormon or something.

Totally mixed bunch for me at the moment.

Sengoku Musuo 2 - PS2
Mega Lo Mania - Amiga
Mahjong Deluxe - PC
Konjiki no Gash Bell : Devil Bookmark - GBA

I really wish I had a PS3 though so I could play some more Ridge Racer 7!

FEAR - PC
Oblivion - PC
We love Katamari - PS2

OK Now I'm gonna suggest you must be a mormon or something.
All people who gamble must be mormons?! o_O Notice I didn't say anything about your other two suggestions. :) Do mormons allow those? I wouldn't know - I don't do religion.

This week I have been playing the spoons.

Big10p: hehe, mormons allow polygamy! but maybe no booze...oh well swings and roundabouts. Yuo probably should have the booze anyway with multiple wives, althought they might drive you too it ... have I gone to far? ;-)

Bejeweled 2 on XBL Arcade Unplugged (CD Compilation of popular classics from the X360). Got up to Level 14 before the dinner bell rang in Endless Mode. It's quite addictive, tbh... Just better hope that Blitz will offer Vista support so I can build a similar game here on my notebook.

Realms of the Haunting
Pandora Directive
Twinsen's Odyssey: Little Big Adventure 2

Grey Alien:
have I gone to far? ;-)

Not yet. He-he... Mormons don't allow polygamy at least not anymore... Still no booze though...

Anatoly: oops haha. Anyway Realms of the Haunting, that's an old one. I have it here on my shelf. Got pretty far with it but never got round to finishing it.

i'm only playing command&conquer tiberium wars

it is just cool :)

also the map editor is one of the best i've seen yet

playing the spoons LMAO {;-)

More than two wives is just greedy......., but is that only duogamy?

C&C 3 looks pretty sweet, still got C&C Generals Deluxe edition to plough through. I'll put C&C 3 on my games: to do list for 2011.
