3D modelling help
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/3D modelling help
im seeking someone that would be willing to whip up some very basic block 3D models for me. what im looking for is start with box and extrude a few times type models. while im sure i could accomplish it myself, i dont have a lot of free time to start with and the amount of time it would take me would probably be embarrassing compared to that of an experienced person. unfortunately there is no pay involved (except my gratitude) but credit will of course be given if the project is ever finished :)
if anyone is interested please contact me for more details.
I may be interested. grab my e-mail from my profile. doing a lot of modeling just now for my current project anyway.
This would take you about 10 seconds in Wings3D. Right click, create a cube, click a side and extrude. It's very easy! If you want them UV mapped that's a different story.
markd's right, and Wings3D is free.
Why not just scale a Blitz3D cube?
I could knock up some simple models but i'd need a better idea of what youre after.
thanks for the responses :)
you are correct in that it should take not long at all and i realize that... but if you dont use it you lose and while i have both Wings3D and Silo, i havent used either in nearly a year and never was good in the first place. i started on one of the more "complex" models a few weeks back and after about a half hour realized that someone who knew what they were doing could probably whip out all the models in nearly the same time i just spent not finishing one.
scaling a cube, which is how i started originally, doesnt quite work since some of the more complex shapes are not regular (ie think the L from tetris in 3D). i then thought i could piece the blocks together by scaling multiple blocks and placing them correctly to make a shape like the L but that didnt work when i started applying the cel shading.
@smilertoo - i have a couple of feelers out. if neither pan out i will definately keep you in mind.
Just sent you what you were asking for but I am sure you didnt mention anything about cell shading in your e-mail so I may have to do some extra bits for you that are in those L and [ shapes.
let me know how you get on, PS, the tanks I did should cellshade nicely.
