On mid-high level soundcards.
Tried both loadsound/playsound and playmusic.
Tried with both an MBox2 and an Emu 1820m with same results.
All other sound programs from Windows Media Player to Soundforge to Cubase Studio 4 work just fine, so my hardware setup is not to blame.
The only way i get any sound at all is to go into
control panel->sounds and audio devices->advanced
and turn hardware acceleration down to 'none'.
Even then, the sound I get is disjointed, glitchy and unusable. Have tried the other settings (basic acceleration etc) but get silence.
Note : the fact that I can get the disjointed sound means it is NOT a programming error, and that the sound IS loading and playing (to a degree).
I know that BB sound works on a soundblaster audigy and live, and also a Terratec ews88mt. It even works on the mainboards 'built in' sound.
I'm running windows xp sp2 on intel dual core.
Blitz3d version is 1.98
