With FireFox 2.0.0.3, it crashes all the time when I am typing text in forums, like I am now. It happens several times a day.

Works fine for me too, do you have extra plugins installed, such as ad blocker and flash blocker?
firefox crashes for me randomly when I am looking at pr0n...
Mine does for the same reason too, but only on this forum... I just restart the session and all is well... the text and form are still active...
I gave up using FireFox (on Fedora Core 6) at work today and switched to Opera. It crashes several times a day for me as well as for others at work, and today it crashed while I was writing a long entry to the wiki on our intranet. :P
"halo" is right though - many people (in general) have had problems with FF crashing and requiring a restart of FF.
Shame really, I use to love FF for it's ease of use.

I dropped back to firefox 1.5 for exactly that reason. Unknown crashes, hangs, freezes.. That was before I installed any plugins as well.
As much as I like firefox, it certainly felt like a step backwards when I started using version 2.

Same here, FireFox crashes randomly since I updated to version 2. Used to work perfectly with 1.5
I use firefox pretty much all day every week and it's maybe crashed twice this year.
About the same number of times as IE has on me this year and I use that for an average of 1 hour per week.
Extensions are definitely a possible cause, I'd strip back to the vanilla FF and see if that resolves it.

What OS version of Firefox you using Halo?
Google shows a fair amount of links regarding this problem for Linux Ubuntu users (couldn't find me a solution), albeit I've never had the problem occur for me on my WinXP SP2 setup.

I've had a few random crashes with FF 2 over the last few month. Just out of the blue the whole thing locks up and takes 99% resources. Thinking about it FF 1.5 was more stable.
It's not common though so I'm not fussed about it :)

Goto Tools > Addons, by default you'll see the extentions tab.

Had an issue with FF2 last night.
I was working on my website and had about three instances of Firefox open; my site, cpanel, and PHPMyAdmin. Unknown to me at this point, I'd accidentally clicked something and left a download/save as requester open.
Meanwhile I opened another instance of Firefox, but it simply refused to work. Wouldn't connect to any websites and some icons were missing.
It wasn't until I spotted the file requester, closed it and relaunched Firefox that normality returned.
Oh, and I hate how it sometimes thinks you want to search for stuff when all you're doing is typing into a reply box.
Its OK but it still needs work.

Ive been using FF on both linux and windows for almost 2 years. V2 since its release (the beta was buggy but the official has been fine)

Opera is a better browser than Firefox IMO.
I don't get problems with forms, but Flash content on some of my XP machines is basically unusable in FireFox. Crashes left and right. On others (work: W2K, home: XP Media Center) it works just fine. Can't explain it.
Flash content seems to sometimes cause crashes when I'm using IE, too - along with other random stuff that seems to be beyond the wit of IE, sometimes.
in my exp. firefox crashes a lot less than ie6 and 7. Havent tried opera(although my nux-box has it) except to check my site works correctly in it. The name put me off LOL! If they had called it HardRock i may be more attracted to it.
