I too am the type of Blitzer that buys stuff in USD. However, some companies are waking up to this and putting in measures to charge you based on location - sniff.
If you get paid in dollars, just keep hold of the money until the exchange rate becomes more favourable.

Yeah. It sucks when you have to buy in Euro to get it shipped outside the US. Yo!, just type in "dollar to pound" or "x dollars to pounds" in google and you'll get your answer...

Yeah when I was first selling Xmas Bonus a $20 was around £12 now it's only £10! Also I just got paid by BFG in dollars so lost a lot of money in the conversion.

You speak the obvious ;) not everyone can do that, as Grey said, but I certainly can and tend to, but i've not seen the trend change for a few months now....

Trouble is, if you start selling your games by the £, you get customers from non EU countries e-mailing to ask for VAT to be knocked off. You lose either way.
The exchange rate is even worse this morning. Was $1.989 last night. Its $1.992 today. Could very well hit $2.00 by the end of the day. :/

I would like to add that the GBP is so strong right now that...
Even us BRITS have no chance of buying a home here. >.<
Damn cost of living (Bills etc) has gone up more than our wages in alot of cases...
My advice, US- Wait a year or so and this place might start folding under its own weight. :P (Heh, I wish.... more likely that the prices will just keep rising...)

Its true. Most brits couldn't afford to mortgage a caravan these days, never mind a house.
Yeah GfK, The case is that I'm feeling pressured to leave the UK. It's too expensive to live here and the benefits are all shot now. Illgal immigrant? great, you'll fit in with the health scheme just fine!

Introduction of minimum wage changed everything. Before, companies paid £6/hour, or as low as they considered they could get away with.
Now they know what the legal minimum is, that's what everybody offers.
A job that pays minimum wage barely covers rent and council tax for many. And that's before you've paid for gas, electricity, water. Oh, and you're still butt-naked and haven't eaten yet!

I'm on £14.5k a year. Take not that tax rates mean I lose about 20% of that or so. (actually I get £11280 in my pocket...) It shouldn't be a struggle, but i'm constantly in my overdraft. At the end of last year I argued with my council because I'd been requesting a bill for 3 months without one arriving. Then, after being assured they owed me money I received a bill out of nowhere for £400. How'd they expect me to pay up? Not only that but they refused to disolve the bill into the following years payments.... so i had to pay up or get put away. Lovely.
Luckily I got a payoff from a project, which saved my ass at the last minute (I really should have saved the money I knew I would end up owing them :P)
In total there's Rent, gas, electric, TV license, water, Council tax, food, clothes..... Too much man. too much. I hardly use the NHS and when I do its crap- my Grandfather died in a rusty hospital bed- he had cancer, but it was a hospital bug that killed him.
Bleh, going off topic lol- I tell ya, get me grumpy and i'll moan for years!!
