Is there anything out there like it ? for Blitz.

Does Anyone have any links to site's like Blitz Coder, something the same with showcase e.t.c. forums.. code archives..

I don't I'm afraid, but it is rumoured to be making a return - according to a story on the DevCrunch site.

Man I sure hope that's true, I made several attempts to gain access to the site in the hope of re hosting it myself but never got a reply from any of the people I contacted, they probably don't use the same e-mail address any more.

It was a good site, what really drew me in was'nt the design, cos it sucked lol.. It was the show case and the fact that a week didn't go by without some one else posting some cool little thing for people to check out, rate and play with.

Its something you don't see here at all, as most of the good developers here are in it for the cash, where as BlitzCoder people were there for the fun and shared a lot more material.

Well that's how I recall the old days anyway. I sure hope it comes back.

Yep that was a great site. Too bad it became a victim of egos, corruption, Idigicon, etc etc.

Basically, you create a worklog,and you moderate said worklog,you can also upload files/demos/screenies to syntaxbomb server and share them without the need of personal hosting! Which is quite handy really! :)

It will a proper dedicated area soon. At the moment members upload to the forum but because of the update today I'll be able to offer a proper upload / download area for members to host exe's / source etc. Allowing anyone to easily browse it and download what they want.

Yeah, you can still get to parts of the site if you know the direct link to that section. But, the problem with the showcase area is that now most of the links are dead. If you can still see an image, chances are the download is still available, otherwise it's more likely not - although not all showcase entries had screenshots to begin with.

It was the place I could always turn to, and feel 'at home'. It is indeed a shame that something (that wholly didn't interest me) caused it to be 'closed until further notice'. :(

Things like the weekly competition used to also add to the fun. And the search functionality of the site was so much more 'useful'.
