I have heard about ShockSites. And I have heard that they will severely crash your computer. But I personally have never come across them. Are they real and as bad as they say? Does anyone have any information about them?
ALSO: If you could, do not post any links in this topic. I don't want to be tricked.
Po's link is fine if you want to click on it to check out shock sites. Shock sites are basically just sites that when you look at them you shout "JESUS ******* CHRIST!!!!" I could name off tons of different shock sites that you should stay away from. They're usually pretty gross. *edited descriptions of shock sites* Stuff like that for the most part.
Tubgirl is a woman pooping orange juice on her face.
WTF?!
WTF?!
Exactly game boy, exactly. ;)
CH I think even your description breaks the forum rules. I don't want to read that, so please edit.
I was shocked several times, not by pervert adult content, but by tech tricks:
When a page is using something like <img src="a:/whatever.jpg"> then the floppy start making noise, very unexpected and shocking activity near you. Ratatata! (Esp. when there's no floppy in the drive, of course).
Then there was the "good old" con/con dos attack that used to freeze the machine. Also pretty shocking.
Sometimes popup are shocking too when they use the msie parameter "fullscreen=true". Not sure if this is still possible (guess not), but once (msie 5 or so) fullscreen meant: absolutely no borders or buttons. It was great to present things, but it was also abused.
One time I designed an Ad for a beer company: A fake BSOD, based on a fullscreen popup (that was looking pretty real!) and then, after a few seconds, the beer ad dropping in as an animated layer, kind of "don't worry, relax" etc. That was funny.

But dosnt covey the shear horror of the image.
Uh... okay.... thanks everyone for the disturbing images now forming in my mind. -COUGH-H&K-COUGH- but I think I will be watching what the url says in the status bar. heh. Thanks again.... -SHIVER-
Shocksites are to regular people what
http://www.evilbible.com is to Evangelical Christians. If they weren't such fanatics, that is.
