Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Has anyone used FLAC so far? If you want unsurpassed compression with no loss of quality, FLAC's your man. Or codeccy thing.
Generally you'll see your file size roughly halved, which is pretty damn good for a sound file... can't do that with zip or rar.
Still, unless you -need- pristine untouched sound files, ogg is still the best for quality/size ratio.

Do you know how much time the decompression routine takes? Is it fast?
And how much is FLAC better than using LZMA?
Never heard of LZMA, so it's got one up on it there. =]
Decompression is not slow. You can easily play back any flac file in realtime. Havn't done any more analysis on it than that though.
