I found stuff on a NASA computer talking about 2012 and a probable pole-flip affecting the earth and possibly having devastating results - stuff about aliens too. They also squeaked on about Venus and alignments and stuff and something about a Federation of Planets or something. It was written in 2006, but is dated 2007 and has been written up by or is written for the House of Representatives (whatever that is). There is an even bigger document with FEMA on it.

It all looks most exciting and I am downloading them now.

I don't think the Google one is an April Fools!!! I seen something like that on Friday, only it was from Chicago to London. You can change the destinations and it wil give you a similar thing. I think someone at Google is having a laugh!

Actually.. the pole-shifting thing is a real concern. My father is working with NASA on ways to protect different things from it's effects. Very minor-case Y2Kish stuff.

Yeah, the pole-reversal thing is real, it's just that it has taken about 1000 years
to swap in the past, never 1 or 2. So the 2012 thing is the joke, I guess. There
was a Daily Planet story with a whole lot more details a while back. Can't remember them though.

Actually about the pole reversal, I watched an amazing docu on it a while back and a UK, Scottish computer modeller created a real time model of the magnetic holes that were appearing in the north and southern poles, and he was very surprised to see that when it does switch, it happens very very fast, like hours.. or less.

well,i got my girlfriend this morning, i got up really early 6am,moved the clocks forward to 9.45am (shes at work at 10am),after a quick shower,then pulled her work clothes on.

when she was ready to go out of the door,said 'april fools',she didnt know what I was on about, so i give her the remote for sky and said 'check the time', she went berserk :-]

I looked at those directions - they all seem pretty straight forward.

Perhaps it would have been better to point you to an airport or something, but if you're strictly walking, that's the way to go.

It would be neat if the Pope appeared on TV and said:
