Hiring plugin authors

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Hiring plugin authors

I would like to contract a few programmers to write mesh import plugins for my engine, and 3D World Studio 6.

I would immediately like to begin work on an .obj mesh importer. This will be one of the simpler ones, because .obj files are already collapsed with no hierarchy. My own mesh format is just a list of subobjects, with all vertices in global space.

If you have experience with the .obj format and are interested, please email me and we will discuss payment and more details.

Other formats I want to support include .3ds, .x, .dae, .md3, and Half-Life 2 .mdl. Plugins can be written in BlitzMax, C/C++ or VB.

The guy who does gile[s] is working on the .obj importer.

If you want to make a few hundred dollars, you could just take the sourceforge 3ds code and use that to write an importer.

Mmm, you could try asking the guys who make Milkshape and Ultimate Unwrap as to who does their stuff.

In fact, Milkshape has a forum and lots of people on that forum are probably cabable of this sort of stuff.

EDIT
In fact, "halo" - go to the Milkshape forums - it's full of plug-in writers:
