You know the editor I am talking about.

Well I grabbed it today and then found out that it requires .Net 2.0.

The problem I have with that is that my system wont take .Net 2.0. It fails on install at adv***.dll, the times I got it past that it went for a bit then failed at some other Dll or some other thing.

I know these Dll's are find cos I had them replaced with clean fresh copies.

And I have .Net 1.0 installed.

Has anyone else had .Net 2.0 Install problems? and if so were you able to overcome them ? and how ?

I use Blide and had no problem installing Net 2.0
I have also Visual Studio 2005 so...

Maybe you need to uninstall NET 1.0 first or even reinstall Windows.

reinstalling windows isnt an option, I always lose things when I do that cached passwords, files, backups, something always goes missing. so that's a last resort.

Has anyone else had .Net 2.0 Install problems?
Yes.

and if so were you able to overcome them ? and how ?
Reinstalling Windows Installer 3.1. Also check that you have enough free space on your C partition. Enough in the case being at least 2 gigs.

Although if you can't get it working, might I recommend HydraIDE? It doesn't have all the features of blide, but it's very lightweight and responsive.

I know someone won't like this 'possible' solution, but Why don't you just uninstall .net 1.0, uninstall .net 2.0, and after a restart, try to install .net 3.0 (it will install .net 2.0 + WinFx) .net 3.0 can run applications developed on .net 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0.

The only Time I had trouble installing .net, was on my errr, borrowed copy of windows XP Pro, (Which needed SP2), when I reinstalled me real copy of XP Home, SP2 and .Net2 had no problem had no trouble.

So what Im asking, is, is your win key valid?

its a valid key, iv done some googling, it could be due to a faulty install, so re installing might be needed gahahahah i hate installing windows :(
