Last 5 games you purchased

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Last 5 games you purchased

List 'em! And choose your favourite.

1. Test Drive Unlimited
2. STALKER (yet to be played)
3. Psychonauts
4. Jagged Alliance 2 Gold (this deserves a 3D remake)
5. WoW: Burning Crusade (quit - thankfully)

For my favourite, I'll pick no. 3 - simply nothing comes close for a storyline. The platformer elements can be frustrating, but it's still a top game. No. 4 is classic too, but given the choice if I could wipe my memory and play again, it would be Psychonauts.

1) Ufo: Afterlight
2) Warlords Civ iv expansion
3) W4K The necron expansion
4) NWN2
5) HL2 Episode 1

I couldnt say which is my fav, cos they are all different. But Aftershock was better then afterlight, so not that one.

Rollercoaster Tycoon
Settlers 3
...

...er.....

:/

1. STALKER - liking it so far
2. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - I liked the first one, and the sequel was in the bargain bin for $5 >.>)
3. Final Fantasy VI Advance - only five more PT members left to max stats on....
4. TrackMania United - There are some friggen crazy user-made tracks for this game unlike any other....
5. Wii Play

Fav so far would have to be TrackMania, mainly because it's the one of the 5 listed so far that I've played to death and gotten deep into, where-as the others I still have to beat and what not.

TDU
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
NWN2
Gothic 3
Might and Magic Dark Messiah
HL2 Episode 1
Age of Empires III
Football Manager 2007

Not too sure the exact order I bought them in - so I listed all the recent ones I remember.

Not sure as to the favourite - FM 2007, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Gothic 3.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade Game 1989, Xbox Live Arcade)
Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition
Gears of War
Red Steel
Bomberman '93 (Wii Virtual Console)

Final Fantasy XII
God of War
Master of Defense <- Blitz3D game
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
World of Warcraft (~two years ago)

I don't buy many games.

SpaceAce

1) Titan Quest
2) Day of Defeat
3) Half-Life 2: Episode 1
4) Sid Meier's Pirates!
5) Wings Over Vietnam

NWN2 - played about an hour, was/still might do level design with it.
FF6 Advance - 2nd fav game ever.
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody - same game, now with fishing.
Ocarina on Virtual console - 1st fav game ever.
Not sure what else.

Best is ZOOT... FF6 is great too, like the extra content, but don't like the not-so-good musical port..

I've rented a lot lately. God of War 2 was fantastic.

Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare
Brothers in Arms: Earned in blood
Rome: Total war
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

I can't remember the one before that, it would have been over a year ago.

1. Crackdown (XB360)
2. Phantasy Star Universe (XB360)
3. NeverWinter Nights 2 (PC)
4. Gothic 3 (PC)
5. Gears of War (XB360)

Curiously, I've barely played the PC games because they perform so poorly on my system and seem so boring anyway (I've no real incentive to upgrade). Maybe I've just outgrown complex RPGs? I never thought I'd see the day, but I don't plan on purchasing a PC game ever again.

The Dig
Full Throttle
Condemned:Criminal Origins
Halo
Total War:Medieval2

impixi
I'd like to enjoy RPG's but the same old elves and orcs and evil wizards sh*t just turns me off.

Yeah, I hear you. I wonder if the Fallout sequel will be any good. Bethesda still haven't said much about it...

1. Kingdom Elemental (by someone on this site)
2. Dungeon Siege (played for an hour or two then uninstalled and gave it to someone else who'd get more enjoyment from it)
3. Sacred:Gold - played for about an hour, see 2 above.

those 3 are spread over a 6-9 month period, can't remember what the last game was I played was - probably doom3 which was fun initially but grew tiresome as it went on (and I didn't go very far either - got up to some jumping puzzle with pipes and moving platforms and gave up.

1. Naked War (masterpiece)
2. Psychonauts (definite candidate for best game ever)
3. Half Life 2 Episode 1 (on my 3rd playthrough now)
4. Pixelships Retro (really cute indie shooter)
5. Master of Defense (best tower defense game I've played)

I don't buy too many games, but I'm very happy with all of the above.

Let's see...

1. Trauma Center: Second Opinion (wii)
2. Metroid Prime: (gc...was $5 used)
3. Rayman Raving Rabbids (wii)
4. Zelda: Twilight Princess (wii)
5. Bards Tale (ps2...another $5 used game)
6. Oblivion

The only games I've really played out of that list are Oblivion and the Wii games, excluding Zelda. I've either not had the time or not been in the mood when I do have time. :/

1. Final Fantasy XII
2. Zelda Twilight Princess (GameCube)
3. HL2: Episode 1
4. Area 51
5. World of Warcraft

Final Fantasy XII (favourite)
Final Fantasy XI Treasures of Aht Urhgan (since unsubscribed - probably will never actually play it)
TrackMania United (third favourite)
Dragon Quest (second favourite)
Black and White 2 (piece of crap)
The Sims 2 (this goes all the way back to the original launch date)

Bought retail games... not many =]

1) Lego Star Wars 2 (GameCube)
2) Tomb Raider: Legends (PS2)
3) Mystery Case Files: Huntsville
4) more Indie games

Basically I bought the first 2 to play with my son, number 3 to play with the whole family and the other Indie games probably to play on my own, I can't remember what they were without looking them up, but they were good.

Also if I didn't review games and get review copies for free, I'd have bought a number of really good indie games meanwhile like:

StarBlaze

Bricks of Egypt 2

MCF: Ravenhearst

Bookworm Adventures Deluxe

Cave Jumper (hmm just checked and I can't find it on there any more)

Fizzball

Plus some others that I'll be reviewing soon...

You can check out my reviews for these games on http://www.binaryjoy.co.uk/

Enjoy!

1) Secret of EverMore (SNES)
2) Wonderboy in monsterland (megadrive)
3) New Zealand Story (master system)
4) Children of Mana (DS)
5) Y's (master system)

Nowday i'm playing number 1 and 4 :)

1) Armed Assault
2) Red Orchestra
3) LockOn
4) Joint Operations
5) Half Life 2

Lots of time between the purchase of the games... ;)

in no particular order:
1) zelda:tp
2)warioware
3)mario kart ds
4)fusion frenzy 2
5)pro evo 6

GA, are you actually playing the MCF games or are they for research purposes? Just curious.

Yeah I played them with my kids and partner. They are good fun for us all as we can all join in at once. I know they are simple, but you either like them or you don't I guess.

Oh, every indie game I play is for research purposes too. I look at the marketing page, the loading sceen, the title screen, all the menus/options etc before I even play the game. Then I checkout all the transisions, particle effects, tutorials etc and finally I see if I actually like the game by playing it properly :-)

I can't remember all five out of the stomach but the latest one is Sam&Max Culture Shock which i enjoy a lot whilst it also isn't perfect (too easy and some episodic faults).

1. Stalker (playing it a 3rd time already!)
2. Zelda: Twilight Princess (for the Wii)
3. Wii Play (yes the Wii again)
4. Rayman Raving Rabbids (also for the Wii)
5. World of Warcraft (it just lasted sooo long, but i had to give up that addiction)

1. NWN2 (PC)
2. GT4 (bargain bucket, replacement)(Ps2)
3. Prince of persia (bargain bucket)(PS2)
4. Bricks of Egypt (PC)
5. TUROK (bargain bucket - gamecube)

Majority of games are bargain bucket games... bar NWN2{;-)

Haven't bought anything in a while, but here:
1) Leisure Suit Larry Collection (Nostalgia won over everything here - floppy version of 6 and no part 7, but I've got it anyway)
2) Sam & Max Episode 1 (Sweet, but short and way too simple)
3) Call of Ctulhu (The best Lovecraftian game there is! But I'm too scared too finish it! ;-) )
4) Evil Dead: Regeneration (Groovy!)
5) Psyhonauts (Tim Schafer rocks!)

And the winner is...
PSYCHONAUTS!!! Yay! The best game that came out since 2005 and I the best recent PC platformer + traditional Tim Schafer's quirky humor that will make you laugh your pants off! Anyone who's into classic LucasArts games or 3d platformers or good PC games who haven't got this wonderful game yet - BUY IT NOW!!!

Glad to see some fellow Psychonauts fans. Playing it made me realise that it's Schafer's oddball comedy that made all those old Lucasarts adventure truly great. I'm not saying Ron Gilbert et al didn't play their part...

Listmania :)

1) S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
2) SilentHunter IV
3) Steal Beasts Pro PE
4) X-Plane
5) EVE

It helps when my games are tax deducable.

6) Guitar Hero II (fun fun fun)

1) Lock On: Flaming Cliffs
2) Armed Assault
3) Guildwars: Prophecies
4) Guildwars: Factions
5) Guildwars: Nightfall

Star Trek Bridge Commander
StarTrek Armada 1
Star Trek Armada 2
Star Trek - Klingon Academy
AVP 2 - Primal Hunt Expansion

Amon: So you like star trek then? You played Klingon Honour Guard (old) and Deep Space 9 (the 3rd person one), they we OK.

Knotz: Yeah I claim back all my games against VAT and tax as I'm a game developer so they are all research :-)

STALKER
Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (but gave it away to my father-in-law)
Civ IV:Warlord (Mac)
Gish
Civ IV (Mac)
Deep Trouble 2

Sims 2 -Xbox
Star wars battlefront 2-Xbox
Hammer and Sickle - PC
Gothic 2 -PC

Amon: So you like star trek then? You played Klingon Honour Guard (old) and Deep Space 9 (the 3rd person one), they we OK.

I love Star Trek. I own all the DVD's, Voyager, DS9, TOS, Enterprise etc.

I remember briefly playing the 3rd person DS9 game but that was way back before 2000. I haven't played the other one you mentioned and it's not going for very much on Ebay so it can't be that good. I'l probably buy both anyway when I next get paid.

:)

Klingon Honour Guard is like REALLY old that's maybe why its cheap. It was an 80% type game in the day. Voodoo 2 days if I recall...

Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (wii) - best DBZ game ever
Call of Duty 3 (wii) - cool gameplay
Battlefield 2142 (pc) - crap
Company of Heroes (pc) - long missions
Rome Total War: Eras (pc) - superb

STALKER (amazing game)
Quake 4 (completed on all difficulties)
Swat 4 (put aside for stalker)
Scrapland
Sims expansions (right up to seasons :) )

I only buy games I either like, they have lastability or are part of a set (I have Quake 1-4)

Quake 4 (completed on all difficulties)
I never realised that people do actually play a game through at all difficulties, was the last one hard?

Lost Planet (xbox 360) - my current favorite, half completed.
Gears of Wars (xbox 360) - just played it for one hour until now (looks fantastic just didn't had the time).
Wario Ware Smooth moves (Wii) - love it!
Super Mario World (Wii - virtual console) - I still enjoy it!
Mario Kart (Wii - virtual console) - 2 players action favorite

I think Half life 2 and the Lucas art games (Day of the tentacle, Zack Mc Cracken, etcetera) are the only games I finished! Nowadays I enjoy much more playing on consoles than on a PC.

WoW: Expansion
WoW
NFS Carbon
Sims: Pets
Oblivion
