Game Music for developers

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Game Music for developers

Hi there,
I'm member of Xzess Music and we've just launched our website.
We are doing music with a band - we really love making music :)
We did a Soundtrack to a game made by some friends, so we had the idea to make music for all developers out there who need music for their games.
We just released our second music pack called "Interstellar Raiders" which is dedicated for future racing games.

You can listen to the music here:

Visit www.xzess.org for more info and tell me what you think =)

I hope you like it!

Not bad. I really like some of this. Aren't a lot of 'bands' that do game music really.

I'd like to see future packs haveing more variety. These 2 are a lot a like. I think there is prolyl a market for fantasy music with guitars and such. And cute/quirky music... You know.. All types.

Keep up the good work.

I am missing License Details. Can this be used as full "Royalty Free" Music, unlimited times and everywhere, be it commercial broadcasting or whatsoever ?

Damn are you guys quick ^^

Well here are the license details (you can find them before you buy a pack or in the Main Menu):
------------------------------------------------------
Once you bought a pack, you can use it in every game you release (unlimited use)!

You don't have to buy the same pack again if you do another game!

The only restriction is: You have to add the following into your game (into credits or something. the player must be able to see it)

"Music powered by Xzess.org"

Optional you can use this graphic button (you'll find the graphic on www.xzess.org under license details)
-------------------------------------------------------

You were so quick, i was just writing this :D
Thx for answers :)

Would you be able to add a lo-fi version of the player, it's awfully choppy on a lower connection.

Good stuff. As a guitarist, I'm not real fond of the "Pod'ish" guitar tones, but they work pretty well in the mix and given the theme of the music, so I won't complain (well, anymore than I already did) :P.

I think you should raise the price of your packs a bit, to be honest. Usually a single royalty free track goes from $10-30 or more.

You should also sell the tracks individually but at a price point where buying each track in a pack separately would cost about 1.5 to 2.0 times the bundled pack price.

Tim,
Could i buy an interstellar or outerspace music disk. Next include directly a mp3 into the sound folder of my project and distribute my game ? (without use an blitzmax 'incbin' ... in fact the final user can access to your mp3).

Perhaps should i add a licence file into the sound folder to explain that this files can't be use outside my game or that it is copyrighted or only for private use ?

[edit] (Hope you see my mail too, i've some pb to download the file with my download id)

Thanks !

it doesn't matter if the user is able to play the mp3's.. with your buy, you get a commercial like license, which allows you to unlimited use of those mp3's in your projects!
listening is free for all so you may share it with friends, but to use in game projects you have to ad for xzess.org inside the game.. see licensing details on xzess.org for further informations
