Sharing Games

How do you post a game that has lots of pictures, sound, and music?

The sourcecode you mean?

Or just an executable complete with media? (which you can't do here, you'll have to host it yourself)

You mean like on Blitz Showcase? If you wanted to put
it on showcase I would recomend making a folder for
sound/music, graphics etc. Then, when declaring things
like LoadImage you would have to do this
image=LoadImage("C:\Documents and Settings\Home\Desktop\Kylers Programs\Games\Fun Game\Images)

I mean post it on the internet. There is 100mb of stuff on it and i dont know ANYTHING about html. Can i still do this?

Ask someone for some server space and use some FTP app to upload your stuff..

I dont know what that means exactly, (lol) but does it cost money?

If it's serverspace from a good friend, then prolly no..
This is where my knowledge stops btw.. :P

Can't he just do that compressed folder thing people do
on this website?

I use zipgenius to make .zip files, they are compressed files that can contain a folder.
A way to temp. store it, is using for instance: http://www.yousendit.com/
(and then sending it to a fictional adres)
I'm not sure if it is still completely free, it's been a while since I used it. But then again, maybe you can search for 'send big files' in google and find another similair service.

use torrents.
It's the easiest way without server experience and its free.

Or use something like http://rapidshare.com or http://megaupload.com/en (both are free). Yes, it is possible to use them for things other than warez and pron - amazing! ;)

I used www.yousendit.com to send a test exe. But it doesn't run it right. click on the link.

Does anyone know why this happens or what im doing wrong? Or can you not send exe's with this?

I just looked at maker.exe and it's cool...
Hold the spacebar it gives some wacky name...

Go to the link, click on the download link, click download now. There is a problem, though. It says the filename is name20%maker. I think I know why, but I don't want to go into detail. Just change the name to maker.exe and it should run fine. :-)

Or just go here, click save, and rename the file to "maker.exe" Click ok and you have the program. :-)

Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks man! I wouldn't have figred that out.

You're Welcome :-)

And sorry for the double-post.
