Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Need 3D Characters?

Just been sent this link, thought it may be useful for someone:

Be patient - it's a slow website but the prices seem really good for medium poly modern characters.

Nice quality, price seems ok for static meshes.

Great, if you are making a game with no character motion.

Try this:

50 animated soldiers for $2500.

Woah! Nice site "halo".

Tons of them here:

EDIT:
$3199 though.

Having said that - look at all the animations: http://www.rocketbox-libraries.com/cc_the_animations.php

If I was making a game, I would totally buy those. Which is better, saving up $3000 and having all your characters done, or waiting around for three years and still not having them?

Whooa! very nice.

@Leadwerks
Those are excellent! Nearly worth the price...

Shame they don't sell individual characters because I'd guess there's way more people who *can't* afford 2k, than who can.

This site has some nice ones.

Yep, because those who do have the money are less likely to want generic art in their game. If they have 2k for some character models, there's every chance they have 5k and can find an artist in Eastern Europe or Asia who can produce the characters exactly to their specifications and be sure other games won't be using the same art.

Additionally a lot of people who don't need 50 different versions of the same character are not going to appreciate having to buy all 50. While I could afford 2k, I'd object to paying it if I only wanted to use 2 or 3 soldiers.

2K isn't even enough to pay an artist for 2 weeks of work.

have you all seen these?

I was so mad that I missed the deadline or I would've bought them. Very good price for the content.

Puki would have wanted those for sure!

The image of the firemen spraying's pretty impressive....

Well, the problem for me is so many people insist on distibuting models in Max format - this is great if you own Max, but worthless if you don't own it.

I'd certainly buy CS:Warriors and Commoners if it were in a useable format.

EDIT:
Having said that:
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The CS:Warriors and Commoners is no longer available.
We are working with Early Adopters in order to release the final version next Fall.

Yeah thats why I was so irritated I missed the deadline, they sold it until Feb 28th or so.

Hey sorry to bring up such an old thread but :) The commoners and Warriors pack is available again. Awesome deal guys $150.

Sources:
Each model comes with a 3DS Max7 .max file, a psa/psk file and a Milkshape file.
Each texture comes with a layered photoshop .psp file

Exported files:
Each model comes with a .dts file
Each texture comes with a .jpg file

System Requirements:
-Valid .JPEG and .PSP editor to use and open art files.
-3DS Max7 or higher / Milkshape for shape source

So now you can use Milkshape as well. Im going to buy these this week. The skins could be modified for virtually any game.

Buy them and report back.

I'm pretty sure they always had the Milkshape files - I was wary that there may be some kind of drawback that would sting me. Personally I'd rather have them as 3DS.
