Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/For interested parties: my blog has moved
Hiya, I know that some of you read my blog so I thought that I'd let you know that's it's moved to here:
http://www.greyaliengames.com/blog/I finally plugged in the wordpress code to my own domain and got the site looking how I wanted it. There's lots more stuff I'll be adding soon.
Also I will be posting articles much more frequently now that it's up and running. I hope that you enjoy it and perhaps find somethig useful...
When I visit the link I'm presented with a white, blank page and have to scroll down a full page before I see the blog.
I'm using IE7 on Vista.
I get the same as Amon. IE7 and WinXP.
Just to reinforce my dissatisfaction with IE7, using IE6 on Win2k works perfectly.
Looks fine in firefox 2. Checking code...
Off hand it -looks- like a CSS/Div issue with IE7.
But it could be anything.. I didn't bother to look at it in IE7 to see what might be broken... I can if you want tho.
Fine in Firefox here to Grey.
Works fine here (FF2).. too many ads tho :p
that's weird that it doesn't work in IE7 and vista. How odd. Naturally as a web noob I've no idea why. Thanks for the heads up guys. Maybe I'll run it through the W3schools validator and see if it picks up anything.
Also it works fine in Safari and firefox on the Mac.
Same problem as Amon, but using IE7 in XP.
[EDIT] Never mind, I see Oddball reported this straight after Amon... doh!
problem is, there is no way I can get IE7 for testing and keep IE6 is there? Aha I could "pollute" my son's PC with it for testing.
You could install a separate OS image with VMWare(free), or even VirtualPC(also free) if your sticking to windows. Come to think of it I might try that to give Vista a whirl...

Supposedly you can run older versions of IE (including 5.5 and 6) next to version 7 in standalone mode -- check out this page:

Hmm interesting. Thanks. I've clearly got to fix this issue. Just to confirm, it's only the blog, not the rest of my site, which is scewed right?
Yep, only the Blog. "Games", "Free", "News", "About", "Contact" and "Links" are all fine in my IE7.
thanks for the confirmation.
