Portals and publishers you trust

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Portals and publishers you trust

I'm pretty new to the publishing and distribution end of independent games. I know some of the publishers by name (BigFish, Oberon, PlayFirst), but I don't really know anything about them individually. I am hoping some of you with more experience in this industry will chime in and give me some idea which companies you've had good experiences with and who to avoid. Any links or resources you want to share would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
SpaceAce

I'd be interested in some discussion on this. However, I'm suspicious that most Blitzers don't venture out in this way when looking for a publishing deal.

All I can say to that, is that there's a fair bit of Blitz-related stuff going on that you clearly just aren't aware of.

I know a few people who are working on some great projects. Just because they aren't shouting about it here, doesn't mean it isn't happening. ;)

I trust BFG, Reflexive the most as they have good service and have paid me. When Oberon, Playfirst and Trymedia pay me then I can say that I trust them. All had good service. I won't mention the ones which I don't feel are as good. If I could have got on Real Arcade, I probably would trust them. Also I know someone who's used Iwin and the seem fine. One I haven't been able to get on (they don't like match-3 games) is Arcadetown as they seem pretty decent from what I've heard. There are plenty more but I have no experience of them.
