Fan-bloody-tastic! :P

LOL!!!
i didnt know it was even still made!

Its supprising because you can just get a chipped XboX or just a PC with 2 usb gamepads and you can play snes 'roms' on it ;) just goes to show, legends live on in spite of piracy.

I have 3 Snes consoles bought on Ebay and so many games it's unbelieveable. :)

I even went as far as paying £170 for Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore and the Donkey Kong Country series. :)

Secret of Mana cost £45 boxed with map. :)

I also bought a multitap so that I could have 4 snes pads connected. Mario Kart is till the schizz. FZero comes second.

Don't forget 4-player Bomberman!!! ;)

zelda, donkey kong, mariocart & f0 were my faves too.

I play em on my xbox now with an EMU, as my old beer stained, blim-burned, ash filled, sellotaped together snes from my college days finally gave up the ghost a few years ago :)

Well, I have to say that came as a bit of a surprise...

Regarding the SNES, still got mine, problem was, back in the days, them cartridges were freaking expensive (more-so the ones with the little processors built-in), so I never really got many games (I was a kid back then, I couldn't afford jack), but man were my hours consumed back then by good ol' Super Mario Kart, and Final Fantasy 2/3 (4/6 by todays numbering).......and a craaaaaaaaapload game rentals. >.>

I've got two snes' and a ton of games thankfully. Although I do actually emulate mos tof them on my modded xbox as I'm lazy and the pictures better.

:( Their server exploded.

Still works here, but here's a cut/paste..

SNES outselling PS3!

Amazon.com listings reveal shocking truth

Friday 16 February 2007
Some bright spark over at the NeoGAF forums has noticed that in Amazon.com's top 100 bestselling videogame products Super NES ranks five places higher than the 60Gb PlayStation 3 console. While we're not going to suggest that makes SNES five times better than the PS3 or anything, it does indicate in the period the chart covers more people were buying a 16-year-old toy than Sony's HD hyper console.

We can't quite put our finger on this bizarre spike in SNES sales, but it's possible that Wii's Virtual Console downloads has caused a resurgence of interest in the retro console in a new audience of gamers. Or maybe it's because the SNES is only $54.93 compared to PS3's $744.40. We'll probably never find out.

Around the begining of the Ps2 launch, a friend of mine paid: 70 for Chronotrigger, 60 for FF6, 50 for FF4, 80 foir Secret of Mana, and who knows how much of an import pack that had, Front Mission, Bahamut Lagoon, and some others.

Still got mine - still got all the games I bought - still play it occasionally.

Still enjoy it tremendously - Super Mario World is still as awesome as it was back in the day. Super Aleste is one of my all time favs, Zelda is awesome too.

IPete2.

The SNES had some pretty top games I agree. In fact I would go as far to say that it is still my most favourite console of all time.

Jason.

Given the amount of fun I had playing mine, I'd have to agree. I also think the Jap/European SNES is the sexiest console design, ever. :P The US version was a hideous brick, though. :/

Still have mine from my younger days still fun with Super mario world

Secret of Evermore was awesome!

Mleh, even the ORIGINAL NES may wind up outselling a PS3, if you want to go to THAT extreme...

Well, assistant in my local GAME store reckons they have over 100 pre-orders for the PS3. Deposit is £50 and selling for £425. I think I'll pass. :/

Well then again, sliced bread do sell more than lobster dinners. So we can presume that even Atari 2600 will sell more than the PS3 for now.

But if i can look back...I recall the game that set the SNES as the dominant system in that era was Street Fighter 2. I still remember that little preview article in EGM with a tiny screenshot the game.....it was history from then on. We all had to get an SNES then. I made my dad get me one that christmas for the "good" grades I got in school...heheh....Ahh the memories....

Well, I never liked Street Fighter, and never played it on SNES. Can't remember what caused me to get the SNES, TBH. I remember it had been out ages before I got one, though. It was probably Mario Kart that sealed the deal. :)

Doesn't anyone remember the time when PS1 was outselling N64, Dreamcast and PS2?

It's a bit different considering that the PS1 was the dominant platform at the time, and had been so for a number of year. The SNES is a machine that isn't even commercially supported anymore.

Well, even tho the Dreamcast has been a dead console for a while, all the speculation and demand for its return seems like it may pose for a comeback into the market. After all, seeing how the PS3's been of late, most people may almost WANT a return of Sega's last console. I mean, I know that I would to a point. It could easily outperform some consoles this day in age, and have some great games to go along with it.

Hell yeah! I'd buy a new Dreamcast :-D. Are we talking about the original or an updated version? Would love to buy Shenmue 3, but am not willing to buy a PS3 or X-Box 360 just for one title.

Maybe that's why the lead developer (I think) of Sega GT was dissin' PS3 saying how unimpressed he was with it earlier this week.

The Dreamcast had ace games; shame that the hype for PS2 was what probably killed it off.

Coregrafx, SNES, DreamCast rulez !!

Where has gone the spirit ?

Wind back the wheel of time !
