Firefox

In Ubuntu 6.10, Firefox won't take me to some sites that I know exist. It just keeps saying the website times out. Has anyone had this problem?

Are you on wireless internet, by chance?

It could be that your DNS settings aren't set up properly - DNS, as you know, being the service which translates a web address to its equivalent IP address...

just a thought...

Try disabling ip64 (address = about:config in firefox), seemed to help with what I blame as my adsl routers stupidity. I also tried to disable it in the OS but I don't think I succeeded as I haven't had ubuntu online updates working from home either.
