I can't find any license documents or faq on that website. I was wondering if anyone had used them and can tell me wether the fonts a free for commercial use.

They're asking for $9.99 and will let me download all 4000.

Any ideas?

It says

A : The majority of fonts on this website are freeware, but a small percentage are shareware so if you decide to keep any shareware fonts please register them. Registration information can be found on the readme.txt file attached.



Perhaps you already know of it but this site http://www.dafont.com/ has a lot of fonts and for many it says (above the download link) whether they are freeware, or free for personal use, or shareware.

Im not 100% sure (so you'd better check the licence), buti think that normally 'free fonts'= free to USE, which means you can use them to create stuff but not distribute the actual ttf file without paying more (this includes websites and games).

A loophole i guess would be to turn it into bitmap font sets using PSP or something to use in a game, because then you have created something with it.

I've used them lots in lots of different projectes. I'm not going to buy them though as I am never going to install 4000 fonts on my machine. When looking for fonts to use I rarely even get past the letter 'A' in their list.
