"Catching up to Apple"? Indeed.

I guess it will look just like iPhone... I wonder where they got the idea from? ;-)

interesting. Will it play games I wonder?

All the proprietary formats keep me from buying any of this stuff. I would totally get an IPhone if it just played regular MP3's.

Hmm.. doesn't 3d world studio use a propritary format for media ?

Just goes to show that reinventing the wheel to stifle competition is considered a legitimate business venture.

Leadwerks: What makes you think it doesn´t play mp3s? After all, the iPhone is also an iPod, and when I look at my girl friend´s iPod, I found tons of videos and mp3s on it that do not have any DRM on them.

I wonder if the iPhone/Zune can be used as a phone without the need for a plug-in headset.....N-Gage anyone?

But seriously, I can't see anyone buying a Zune phone unless it has some serious edge in a specific department that would make people warrent choosing one over the sexy/slick iPhone.
('course I'll be buying neither, already have a phone, and an MP3 player)

I just want to see this guy review it ..

I want one in brown!

.

It looks like microsofts lead designers have finaly found that "draw rectangle" button in "Paint".

Well, doesn't look like a phone to me.

I don't like it and most certainly don't want it.

If Microsoft want something to do, then I suggest they sell us a clone version of the teddy bear from the film AI. I'd like one of those and would glady pay for one.

I thought Ipods required you to convert everything into an "ITune" file.

If apple did that it would have been commercial suicide for the ipod. I have an IPOD Shuffle and it happily plays MP3's. Of course, you can also play tunes in MP4 format that you get from Itunes.

:)

Okay, but don't you have to "sync" it with your ITunes "Library"? I mean, you can't just drag and drop an .mp3 file onto the player.

I have a no-name MP3 player I got at Fry's for $15, and it runs off an SD Memory card. This is perfect, to me.

Yupp, iPod sadly have this brain burnt library structure, they do not work as multimedia harddisk like Creative Players do.

This ZunePhone most likely uses the most used way on windows: Windows Media Player Sync. Does not need to be in your library, it just needs to be "accessable" to the WMP.
Works quite well over bluetooth to my Sony Ericcson W850i actually :) (far better than sonys crapware they deliver. that one only formated my media several times and crashed my pc over a dozen times until I uninstalled it)

Yeah because apple was the first to market with a smart phone... riiiiiiight. :)
