Defender of the crown .. Defends again

I used to love Defender of the crown on the Amiga.
A real graphical showcase at the time.
Plus excellent orchestral music.
Simple to play too.

There is a new version for the PC for anyone interested:

Defender of the Crown: Heroes Live Forever

I can't download here (surfing on the equivalent of a side street as opposed to the super highway)

Anyone tried the demo?

Looks awful...

Do you know that there is a shockwave version of the game around?! http://www.cinemaware.com/browser/dotc/final.asp

Yeah I used to play this quite a lot. There was a guaranteed way of winning if you followed a walkthrough carefully :)

I'm not sure about a remake, it was good for the platform I played it on, but these days PC's are capable of more.

Like you Jim I can't try to the demo due to being on hamsterband :)

I think if it was really revamped and had a lot added to it it would be great, but it doesn't seem from the site like it's been expanded all that much.

Much like Another World - Remix then. Same gameplay mechanics but enhanced graphics.

This new Defender of the Crown is a joke - it looks pretty much like the original game. It is based on the limitations of a bygone day of of software development - what makes them think a modern user (who never had a computer back in those days) will want to buy this for $20.00.

This is like re-releasing a clone of the original 28K BBC Elite for $20.00.

I have made notes on the matter and will pass them to the mayor of New York City to do as he pleases.

I'll say no more on the matter.

I think we were less picky about games 20 years ago.

I played a Flash version of DotC not so long ago, which was identical to the C64 version. It was complete cack as well.

I use to love this game on the Amiga.

But I sure I saw another version of this game a year ago or so made by Cinemaware.
