Attn BRL - can we have 'Media' in Toolbox section?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Attn BRL - can we have 'Media' in Toolbox section?

For a long time I've wanted to add media links into the 'Toolbox' section of the site. Just purely the links - a bit like I do with my sig.

Many people have been very surprised and grateful when they have become aware of the links in my sig - to the point of me being given free media by more than one of them.

On this forum and on many forums out there, the only way these people can promote their links is by creating a thread and the reason I put stuff in my sig for them is their threads will only last a week or two before they drift off.

I think it would be great to have a 'Media' section for the 'Toolbox' section of the site and I think there is a lot of motivation to be had for people who cannot make their own media.

If not, I could just put stuff in 'Misc'.

My only concern is this:
* You must be the author of the tool specified above.
* You must be the owner of the website specified above and the contents which appear in it.

It is clear from current entries that some of the entries in the Toolbox section are clearly 3rd party and were created by Blitzers.

Anyway, does anyone have any concerns or objections as to my intentions here? Personally, I think it is a good idea, would be a good move, and would benefit everyone.

I've created threads in 3D sections of places like DevCrunch and SyntaxBomb that look like this:

This is the sort of thing I mean.

One of the reasons for doing this is I think some of the media creators struggle to get their products noticed - some of them are not regular posters on the forums - some appear to have bought a Blitz product just to post their product.

We must allow them a permanent place to link their media.

The 'Edit' button is your friend.

Yeh, this would be great - then I can edit entries too. Keep things up-to-date.

Nobody has objected in 8 hours.

I hereby instruct BRL to complete my task.

Why a seperate forum when we have "puki", at almost 7500 posts.., there's no way in heaven we can forget about all that media.

Tho an extra forum is never bad ofcoz.. do clean-up the code archives as well then, and add more categories..!

I would agree a media tab would be good for people just starting coding :)

Just to clarify - I am talking about a 'Media' section being added here:

http://www.blitzbasic.com/toolbox/toolbox.php

Even better, let's have a new section just for puki.

If it comes with a lock and key, I'm all in favour :)

lol ;-)

I can't find my new 'Media' section - where is it?

On your hard drive, in the folder named 'Stoof_ive_haxx0rz'.

Either I am blind or it still isn't there.

I think tomorrow I might take over the 'Misc' section for myself.
