3D in a music video! Ah.. those were the days!

In 1993 this clip became the most expensive clip ever made for a Dutch artist. I don't recall the costs but it could as well have been over half a million bucks! It was also the first fully computer-generated clip or something (at least in NL)

And yet, by today's standards it's so incredibly cheesy ^_^ (what are those things @ 3:21 ... EGGS or something??).. could have been a 4-page Povray script.

Note that the actual song won the two most important Dutch music awards that year, see: it's actually a brilliant tune..

But please, someone shoot the gospel children choir... oO

The first 3D I saw in a music video was done by the Rolling Stones, in the late 80's (1986-87) sometime.

The song was "Hard Woman (To Love)" I think. It featured Mick Jagger and his missus and seemed to be motion captured or roto scoped by the look of it because you could tell exactly who was who, even though the graphics were done as pipe cleaner/plastic pipes outlines, not blocks.

I wonder if it is around on the Net? I'd love to see it again.

Actually, wasnt the first 3d music video was "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straights? I always remembered the "Amazing" video by Aerosmith...always thought that was pretty cool with the big VR fad at the time.
