Roast me baby.

Given it's often over 40 degrees Celsius in the places they are thinking of using it one wonders if the victims would even notice...

haha, yeah. Also I wonder if you could train your mind to go "it's only heat, not dangerous at all"...Spock.

This is a blatant ripoff of the Atlantis Deathray. :)

I heard Hannibal Lecter and Jeffrey Dahmer were brought in to help with the design as they were undoubtedly the most knowledgeable when it comes to microwaves effects on the human body.

:P

"We expect the services to add it to their tool kit. And that could happen as early as 2010."

"The weapon could potentially be used for dispersing hostile crowds in conflict zones such as Iraq or Afghanistan."

Lord knows we'll still be in those places when these things become commonplace.

"Bread out yer bread" get toast for free!

IPete2.

I wonder if it has a "sun tan" module?

About frickin time. I remember when they were working on this back in 1999...was wondering when they were gonna finish. I recall they were looking for volunteers at the time.....

That's just disgusting...

I really wish they would use such things on the people who invent and build these crap or at least in their own country so that people get an idea which idiots they've elected.

And isn't this quite dangerous for the eyes?! Even more if you have a glaucoma? I wouldn't bet on that this is safe in any way. Do you remember how people once should protect themselves from nuclear bombs - lunch papers over their heads and hiding under a desk...

Sad, sad, sad...

man, taumel... You don't trust -anything- do you?

What a waste of taxpayer's money... There are so many areas where such money could be much better utilized. :(

Barney

Right I would volunteer to be shot - the winter finally arrived and it's -12 celsius (still very low, usually it's -20 to -30 this time of year)... hot oven feeling would be very welcome!

Maybe they could be used to heat the homes of the elderly?

It makes me curious as to how much energy the device actually requires to operate, as something tells me it'll be chugging a lot more than an electric stove would use to do the same job.

Teah. They need to waste more money on Video Games.
