Old Space game

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Old Space game

its gonna be a bit vague but here goes...

I don't suppose anyone remembers the name of an old CGA space themed game. At the start you choose from various characters to be the crew on your ship, a mixture of humans, aliens and robots. Each would be in charge of a specific area, like shields, weapons etc.

You would see a view of each character sitting in their part of the ship (along with a short tune for each via the internal speaker).

There was no action as such, decisions were made by selecting items from a list.

I cant remember anything about the characters either really, except there was one human, called Boris!

Anyone? ;) ta!

Normally I am good at picking out games from descriptions like these.. But I have no clue on this one.

Sounds like "PSI-5 Trading Company", which I used to play on the C64. Maybe there was a CGA port later on?

[EDIT] One quick Google search later - what do you know, there was a CGA port:

[EDIT 2] Removed link - just search for "PSI-5 Trading Company CGA" in Google, you'll find an abandonware site (The Underdogs) with details on the game.

Do NOT click that ^^ link if you're using IE! :/

??? I AM using IE (version 7) and it has no problems with me, but ok - I'll edit the link out in case it causes anyone problems.

It was OK for me using IE6 as well.
Anyway, in this case the German Wiki is your Freund

Weird, I'm using IE6 and it spawned a bunch of nasty crap. :/

its PSI 5 trading was released on the Amstrad 1512 and 1640, do a google for 'Home of the Underdogs' they should have it or know where you can get it.

Another one that it could be is Starflight but it sounds more like PSI-5 trading.

haha awesome, it was PSI-5 Trading Company, the name seems so familiar now, thank you :)

I was so young I didnt really have a clue what was going on

Edit: haha and the guy i remember was called boris ;)
