Port unblocking in XP?

I've been using XP for years, but I have no idea how to unblock a specific port. Anyone help?

If you're talking about a port that's being blocked by the built-in firewall:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Exceptions

you can either add a program, or a specific port (to be used by any program)
