Free Wii's, Xbox's, PSP's and IPods?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Free Wii's, Xbox's, PSP's and IPods?

I've had my virgin mobile contract now for just over 16 months and was planning on moving to another provider.

After googling I found places like the CraphoneWarehouse, The Link etc and some others offering free hardware with a mobile phone contract. One was offering a free Nintendo Wii with a T-Mobile 18mth contract and Samsung E900.

Are these deals legit? Will I really get a Nintendo Wii if i sign up?

Here are some links.

Has anyone else signed up and got a free Wii or XBox?

These deals are legit, a few of my mates have recieved free consoles.
These dont do the wii but these had some good offers.

Also some high street shops do them.

I was going to go for the free psp last september but i ended up with a half price 12 month contract with free phone. I ended up buying a wii in Dec for cash. I'm actually better off and only have a 12 month contract.

If you work these conracts out, its like your paying for the console but on credit.

On a 18 month contract your last 3 month at half price is months 19, 20, 21, so its actually a 21 month conract.

You really have to work the prices out.

Has anyone else signed up and got a free Wii or XBox?
No, someone might have signed up, and thought they got something for free. But the subscription/contract will last for X months and cost X stakatos more than a regular subscription. So you don't get it for free, you are buying it (for more than it costs in the shops most likely).

its no different than these rent-to-own places that let you rent a plasma for 5 years at $25 a week. which works out to 6,500

Thanks for the replies.

Well, the offer I might go for is as follows.

1X Samsung D900 Free --- Retail Price, between £269.99 - £299.99

1 * Nintendo Wii Free --- Retail Price £179.99

That equals £449.98

Now, the contract is 18 months at £35 with 600 minutes free calls and 100 free text a month.

If I were to make calls to mobiles charged at 15p per minute that would be £90 of free calls per month, which = £1620.00 worth of free calls for the entire contract length.

The cost in total for the contract for 18 months is £630.00

So, Err!, I dunno what the math is now. :/

Smash your mobile phone into the ground like I did - it's way better! Free from hassle and pointless unnecessary phone calls...how it used to be..sigh..

you can't count 'free minutes' in there... dispite what they want you to believe. It doesn't cost them any more for you to use 1 minute a month than it does for you to not hang up the phone the whole month.

you are paying 180 or 10 a month. but.. at the same time.. you can't count the phone either. since they make that and it doesn't actually cost retail to them... so you are prolly paying something like 20-25 a month for the service.. which is prolly on par with some other sevice or actually not as good as others.

I phoned up to cancel my O2 contract because I wanted to go for a free PSPat £35.
They tried to get me to stop by offering a free d900 and £28 contract, 500 mins and 500 texts.
I said i would think about it,
Phoned them back next day to cancel and they knocked price down to £20 for a 12 month contract with free d900 and 500 mins and 500 texts.
Money I saved bought me a wii and some games in Dec.
I still havn't got my psp.

My contract is up in 9 months, I think I might go for the free PS3, unless they knock me down to £10 per month :)
