First Website

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/First Website

Well, I'm going to be setting up my first website soon. I'm a complete noob when it comes to this, so bear with me :).

Anyhow, I'm just curious if it's worth spending more money to get a deluxe registration of some sort that will shield my registration info from public view.

Does having all of your info openly available on a WHOIS really result in a lot of spam/identity theft?

Actually, since I was registering 3 domains at once, I got the private registration for free, so I guess this thread is useless now. ;)

Spam, yes - but a good spam filter (like the one in Thunderbird) wil catch it. Identity Theft. No.

Let us know when you publish them.

So you can tell me how crap it looks on your huge TV? Pfft. XP

Actually, I'll be needing all the constructive criticism I can get. It'll be a while before I have it ready for the public, though.

is this a site for showing off your blitz games? or some thing unrelated?

It's not huge. :o> But yes, one should never pass up the opertunity to criticize people who don't make user friendly websites. Or software for that matter.

It's going to be a site for my indie endeavors. Currently I'm working on a MUD server and while the server isn't being written in Blitz the client will be.

ah! so that's why i get all the spam! i should have figured. . .
