NWN2 - who reckons it'll run then ?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/NWN2 - who reckons it'll run then ?

Alright,

I'm expecting a copy of Never Winter Nights 2 (NWN2) from Santa, my system spec is:

AMD Duron 1800
128MBytes Graphics card
600Mbytes RAM

The online checker I looked at reckoned my CPU might be below par.... What do you reckon ? Answer will be posted by the end of today - after I've played with my, I mean my son's lego!

I reckon it'll run but you'll have to turn the resolution/graphic settings right down, and even then it probably won't be consistently smooth.

I reckon it will struggle. The retail version had a lot of problems with the camera being very sluggish. However, they have released at least one patch since retail - the last patch I tried made it run very much smoother.

Have tried it briefly and it works! I am blown away by the quality of the graphics, I am fearing for my free time - I can see time slipping away.

It so far has only had very minor glitches, but considering my system is 'just' below minimum spec - I expected a lot worse.

The animation of the characters is exceptional. Maybe I'm suffering from not buying many recently released PC titles, but I've got to say I am immensely impressed by Obsidian's new offering.

Merry Christmas,

What do you reckon ?
Haven't got a prayer.

hahahahahah.

No

Well it wont be constant in the big fights where you have like 3 chars fireing fireballs/ice storms and they have catipults firing flameing balls of err.... flame.
But it will probably work in Deagans house.

I want it too, but I daren't buy it.

Wise choice....

it runs poorly on my system and i have a 3400 xp 64 and a x850 graphics card. its a good game but the engines a bit of a dog

Hmmm, just goes to show its not down to how fast your processor goes...... It seems to run fine on my 1800 (1.6GHz actual) duron with a 128MByte Radeon. Not sure what the significance of a x850 graphics card is.....

I have been running it at the default resolution however, I'm surprised it's running at all seeing as the minimum specs a 2000 Athlon ....

Obsidian get my vote.

Thats odd. Its runs smoth on my 3100XP 32 x850. I would imagine 1) you dont have enough memory. 2) Your computer is in some way setup badly

Runs fine for me to (except one particular fight against TKOS)

core2duo 6800 , geforce 7900 gt

runs fine with everythng max but I cant seem to get AA to work .
I have it forced on and seem to get the speed hit, but it doesnt look AA, Is it the bloom (geforce 7 series have the same problem?)
I can force AA on in Oblivion and it works with HDR.

So far its pretty good game, Only got it yesterday tho :)..but ive made it to neverwinter.

Sam

Ah, see I ramped up the res to 1200 x 1084 (ish) and it ran fine (surprisingly), lag kindof kicked in when I ramped the detail from medium to high - but to be fair my cpu is a duron 1800 (1.6GHz), some 2-400 MHz beneath the 'minimum' operating spec.

NWN2 is something else - I recommend Grims Tavern II for a pw...
