Questions About You

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Questions About You

So I am writing a report on indie game developing and wondering if a few of you guys could answer some of my questions, If anything it will be fun to share this info with everyone, and I will put my report online for you all to read once its done. So here goes:

1) What is your name and full-time job?

2) How many games have you developed, what are their names, and how would you describe them?

3) Are you, or could you be, financially self supported by your game developing?

3) How are you distributing your game(s), are you doing it yourself online, or do you have a publisher?

4) Do you create your own media (graphics, sounds, music etc) in house, or do you source it?

5) How important do you think making a game visually appealing is too its overall success, compared to game play?

6) What do you think is the best type of game to make, or demographic to market your games too, to be a successful developer?

7) How do you think the Internet, being able to directly sell to customers, will effect the future of games publishing?

8) Do you think the recent interest in indies from console companies (referring to 'virtual consoles' and games such as 'flow') is the start of a 'new age' for indie/small games companies, or just a 'flash-in-the-pan' gimmick by the console companies?

9) Where do you think the future lies for indie/small developers? Internet, mobiles, 'virtual consoles'...etc?

and finally...

10) What advice do you have for anyone trying to develop games and get them published?
