Need inspiration? This is amazing!

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Need inspiration? This is amazing!

Okay, this isn't directly computer related, but I hope this doesn't get deleted. This guy...well, I can't even describe the amount of effort involved in his undertaking - just check this out, it is truly amazing (if not a wee bit excessive)

Sometimes I feel like the design/coding of my MUD is overwhelming, but I've got nothing to complain about after watching that. :)

this guy is completely insane.... "I'm gonna make a 1/3 scale version of the ugliest version of this brand of car. I'm awesome"

no wonder hes an excellent engineer..but I'm wondering if thats the case, why not make his own type of car 1:1 ratio..it will be really more fan than make replica..

Sometimes the things that guide and teach us are other people's work! Amazing work on that I must say, even if I do agree about it being ugly.

I knew all Engineers were Anal Retentive Perfectionists but this guy has shot to the TOP of the AR list!!!

The job is awesome!!! You know with the money he spent he could have probably bought one!!!

Amazing!!! OK who wishes to bet on weather on not he is married... I vote NO!!! I can't imagine ANY woman letting him spend money on that hobby!!! :)

LOL, that's funny you should question that. I found this video posted on another forum under a thread titled "This guy CAN'T be married"

..hehehe..interesting point Rook :)) regarding my 'knowledge' about womans, I doubt hes married OR, if he is, his lady is rocket scientist :)

He must have the most understanding wife of all time.

That just fills me with pointlessness.

That just fills me with pointlessness.

twice.

Wow.

I'm so gonna do that, only 1:1 and with a mclaren f1 supercar :O

Does make you think about whats possible if you really put your mind and soul into something...

If only he'd made a full-scale model, it would be worth an absolute fortune.

The story:

My friend and his girlfriend both works at MB. The story I heard was this guy did an amazing job with the replica (needless to say). One would think that he got a job offer from MB, but no.... not even close.

The guy made a terrible mistake. He took the replica to an auto show where MB was going to present the real SLR. He had the car under a sheet of cloth and presented the car outside of the autoshow. The presenter for MB saw what happened and thought he was fired and was not informed. The guy made a call to the headquarter about getting fired and was quite upset. That's when MB learned that someone had created a replica of the SLR. The guy was being sued for patent infringement.

This is what I was told back in Oct of 2003 at a VW gtg from a friend who works at MB.

:)

Nice work on the car, but pretty stupid to take it to a show where the real thing is going to be unveiled. What a knob. You can predict that most of these large corporations will have no sense of humour about something like this.

..its just excellent..really good work..if they smart they will pick up guy and keep him for their own purposes :)..I mean..if guy produce such a thing out of old crappy MB, in his home backyard ...what will be limits for such a guy within MB halls in Stuttgart...ccooolll
