Changes that would make MaxIDE look nicer!

I think that MaxIDE could have a few little changes that would make alot more difference in how it looks. These would only work on the Windows version (the manifest atleast).

Have the Editor font 'Courier New' instead of 'Courier'.
The Output and Navbar should be 'Verdana' 8pt.
MaxIDE should have a manifest, or a proper resource file when compiled.

IMHO those changes make it look way nicer than its default look.

I wish it looked more like VC++.

Really? I usually turn off all the toolbars and whatnot when using VC so that its just the main text area, and the program output.

I wish it looked more like Eclipse. Maybe XDevelop. Differet strokes for different folks I reckon.

I must be missing something. Isn't much of this personal preference which is why you can change them in IDE Options?

So you can all download the CommunityIDE source and reconfigure it to make it match your needs ;)

Thats great for more experienced users, but first time users aren't going to bother changing the fonts etc. I'm just saying that if that was the default (which still can be changed) it would make it look a bit smoother.

why would that make it smoother?? it's just a matter of preference..
personally, I think the courier looks better than the courier new font..
but it's just what I think.. I'm sure there are even people wanting to code using the comic sans font.. hehe

Courier New looks better if you turn Cleartype on (which doesn't affect Courier).

really? where is this Cleartype setting? Never heard of it before..

You have to download ClearType PowerToy from Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Check the PowerToys, they really improve XP. TaskSwitch is also cool, which adds window preview to Alt-Tab.

You could just go to 'Display Properties>Appearance>Effects...', check 'Use the following method to smooth edges screen fonts' and select ClearType from the drop down.

the standard ClearType setting on the display settings window, made it abit too fuzzy for me..
but the powertoy thingy made it abit better..

then again.. it might be just me.. lol
