Hi,
some of you might remember how excited i was with the new Sam&Max. Whilst it's really a enjoyable adventure game i'm quite upset which their distribution scheme for the episodes.
If you buy the product via Gametap then you get each episode two weeks in advance of those who buy the game from telltalegames directly. Now this wouldn't be a problem if gametap was available all around the globe, which isn't the case. Actually it's only available in usa and canada.
I feel like a second hand customer due to this if i'm living in europe, more as i've bought the whole package already in advance. I mean there are no local issues, localisation, packaging, ... It's a pure digital distribution and they've got my money already.
I would have accepted such a behaviour for the first episode but for each one it's really annoying. In a whole you have to wait three months (2weeks*6episodes) for getting the same content as gametap users if you play the episodes and don't wait till the cd is beeing released.
Such distribution deals are really in now way what i would think of an advantage of a digital distribution. This just sucks and makes me that i will never again buy a episode title where this is the case! My fault that i didn't read the small print good enough.
It's really annoying as for the second episode this means that gametap users are able to play the game during the xmas holidays and the rest of the world is able to play when holidays are over in january next year.
Buhh TellTaleGames, you've lost one customer due to this behaviour. These things really play into the hands of pirates. Sad...
