by one of the main guys at Reflexive. It's not a self serving list for Reflexive though, it's more about genre classics that everyone cloned (ahem).

Admittedly most people round these forums would rather shoot themselves (or some aliens) before making a casual game but I thought that you might find it informative. Seem like I need to make a solitaire clone next ...

ew! hehe.. Don't like a single one of those games. I guess I'm simply not a casual gamer.

I think our game Market value could have been pretty good if it had had the gameplay, balancing and bonus system worked out better.

I like Mah Jongg but then i fire up UAE with Shanghai or just play a real Mah Jongg - the gamestones make a nice sound when they touch each other.

Actually I like quite a few games on the list.

yeah, a hell of a lot :) the concept was good though, think the name was the worst thing. Would have appealed more if the name suggested shopping and having fun spending money :)

I must admit the name put me off. Sounded a bit to dry. Was it about selling houses?

nah, it was about selling items on a grid, starting with cheap items within your budget in order to build a big enough profit within a time limit. Once you got to the end of a level a more expensive item was introduced to make things more challenging and raise the risks somewhat.





BTW, didn't mean to hijack this thread. Was just thinking about my first attempt at a more casual kind of game :)

Damn fine of Reflexive to reflect (no pun) on other publishers efforts rather than push their own. I take my hat off to them. I'm not surprised to see Jewel Quest but I thought I might have seen BKR.

Goes to show though that it really does not matter how much money you spend on "Gloss" and "Polish" a simple game that can be played with bits of paper "cards" is gonna win every time - crap someone should invent an internet casino :P

Maybe I need to make UNO, that was pretty cool.
